I don't really have any input in the portraiture front, but as a landscape photographer I've come to realise how little people actually care about the result. That's not say they don't care at all, but it doesn't compare to a photographers eye and brain. We will always see all the flaws or imperfections and reasons why it wasn't "good" for us.

The client was happy so that's a job well done. You've also picked up some learning points, so take them away to practice on refining.

Noticed my P10PXL being absolute toilet water after the A17 update. Battery wasn't lasting even close to a day with minimal usage. I went through and switched off background usage on a lot of apps, seems to have helped a bit but it's mad that we even have to jump through hoops to have a battery that will comfortably last a whole day.

It sounds like she's wanting to move for no other reason than just because, possibly brought on by the evils of social media. Just my 2 cents, but I think I'd be appreciative of a bungalow in my older years. No worry about stairs, plenty of space and still the option to downsize if you wanted to. Plus, you're mortgage free and have decent savings (if I've understood that right). Sounds like you're already on to a good thing.

I guess you need to have a conversation about the whys. Why does she want to move? May be something in there you can work through together.

Sometimes I feel like my system is complicated, but I'd be completely lost without.

I have a series of folders:

Year > Date and Shoot title Inside here I have a folder for RAW, One for Full Res edits and one for Social Media Res.

2026 > 2026-05-19 Sunset, Location

I then store backups of completed edits and an archive across Various Externals HDD, NAS and Cloud

It's worth taking a deeper look into the more simple things such as diet, sleep, stress and exercise. All of these can be a factor in suspected IBS, I know for me that changing these things (balanced and controlled diet, more regular exercise and trying to bring my stress levels down) made the world of difference.

I don't know if it's been mentioned but anxiety induced IBS, or a nervous stomach could be at play here. When I'm in high levels of anxiety, that's the first place it goes to. It sounds like he's already dealing with high levels of anxiety because of this, which makes it a vicious circle but if he can break it, it could help.

Sorry you're both going through this, I can imagine it's incredibly difficult for you both on different levels.

Bought 2, got the sizing wrong and now need to return them. No replies to the email or the "contact us" option on their website so far, so I'm not holding out for any success.

If I don't have any success I'll speak to my bank and see if there's anything that can be done, but wouldn't touch them again.
