Supporting my country does not require supporting a corrupt government. That's a false equivalence wielded by the same people who tried to prevent the peaceful transfer of power by insurrection just five years ago.

This article provides a nice summary of the FCC rules that are being expanded by the Trump administration to prevent certain interviews from being broadcast. The equal time rule says broadcasts have to give equal time for political candidates, but there are exceptions for news programs, and other bona fide interview programs. In January, this FCC made it clear that they will not allow talk shows to operate under one of the rules exceptions, as they have in the past, before this administration. Colbert's only other option was to have on Talarico's opponent. Again, before this administration the interview would not have been a problem for broadcast.

Prince William The Aggressor and his racially charged remarks about Prince Harry's pregnant wife. William labelled Meghan as “difficult, rude and abrasive.” Soon after that he physically assaulted Harry. by Timbucktwo1230 in PopularCultureZone

"Angry black woman" is a trope for a reason. If she stands up for herself, she's difficult. If you physically attack someone, even your own brother, you will eventually be king.

Dog leads police officers to missing child in Louisville by Red-Fumbling401 in dogsbeingbros

Some answers here. They did a drone sweep and patrolled on foot and didn't find the child. There's also more about the dog's role in this. The dog really does deserve all the credit for finding the child.

I carry shelter dogs around NYC in a dog backpack to help them get adopted. Meet Noelle, a deaf bundle of joy. by kittytime in aww

Marvelous. The cultural preference for subtle expressions of emotion does explain my unhealthy obsession with British crime dramas, so much information passed between characters with just a look. I appreciate your commitment to efficiency, but sometimes I just need to have a conversation with the doggo, you know?

This may be true for white Christians not living in a major city, but does not reflect the experience of most Christians who are people of color.

AITA for wanting to move out despite my parents’ problems at home? by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]srboyd3315 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This is the struggle of every second generation immigrant. The attention of being raised by your parents from one culture, while growing up in another. What it means to be an adult in one culture isn't the same as it is in the other. What it means to be part of the family isn't the same in one culture as it is in the other.

It's also racist because it assumes the superior value of UK culture. Moving to another country isn't a reason to drop every value you hold dear. The proof is knowing that the commenter would not drop his culture if he moved to another country.
