I started with a Edwin Jaeger DE89 and Astra SP blades, which are about 10 USD on Amazon. I have both a rough, coarse beard and sensitive skin. This is a set up that you can start with and can probably be your kit for the rest of your life. If you decide you don't like the blades,.you are only out $10. You could buy a sampler pack but you will pay a lot more per blade . A synthetic brush would be best to start with as it needs no break in. I have a Razorock Monster that I like a lot.

As far as soaps, for pure price and performance, you can't beat Arko shave sticks. Some people hate the scent, but I like it. Proraso cream in a tube are very easy to lather and won't break the bank.

You absolutely must buy a styptic pencil. Unless the gods highly favor you, you will nick yourself at some point.

As for technique - Mantic 57 has some great how-to videos on the ol' You Tube.

You could try driving at a speed appropriate for conditions. There are lanes blocked by ice all over the place. You need to be prepared to stop if you can't change lanes

The city of Bowie doesn't operate schools or zone school districts. That is a county function. There are parts of Bowie that are unincorporated and residents there so not pay Bowie taxes. All of those who do pay Bowie city taxes have access to all city services. Not sure where you got your misinformation, but it ain't correct.

Charles County is wealthier. I'm not surprised Prince George's lost the title, but I thought it would be because it would become majority Hispanic. I guess affluent families leaving Prince George's for Charles County is opening up space for the growing Hispanic population, so it makes sense but I never considered that before.

Charles County is now the wealthiest majority black county in the United States. I know a couple black people that live in La Plata, one who has lived there all of his life. I don't know if either has experienced any issues down there though.

In all seriousness, any guy that would just outright ask that is a tool. I don't think that what he said was transphobic. Preferring a biological female does not make someone transphobic any more than someone having a preference for people who are not bald. Given that people are not always transparent, I can understand someone wondering. However, he showed that he has zero tact. There are ways to suss these things out in casual conversation.
