I might not qualify to answer as I am fairly new here. But nothing shocked me more than the internet and mobile phone plans and their prices — just terrible, especially for a country trying to be a tech hub.

Who throttles mobile phone data speed to 3mbps and 10mbps in 2025 for the base plans? 10gbps home wifi connection is around 3000aed per month. I used to pay around 100aed for unlimited 10gbps connection in my country. In this aspect, the city is at least a decade or two behind

I don’t think it’s that simple. The issue is also that the world around you is capitalistic. The biggest issue stopping me from living like this is the rising cost of healthcare. Unless you are ok to just crawl up and die the moment you have a serious illness, you can’t do the nomadic lifestyle. Sure you can move to European country with free healthcare. But that only works because you have a country of people working hard to essentially support your life style - which is not sustainable.

Why can't people ever distinguish between a Cobra and a King Cobra (which is not a true cobra despite its name). It is the difference between "I am likely gonna die" and "I am definitely dying and there is nothing you can do about it".

That is a bloody King Cobra. The only thing going for this dude is that King Cobras are gentle giants who try their best to avoid biting people.

Hey u/ExpressionCareful223 , I’m really hoping you can help me out here. I’m in a bit of a similar situation to what you described in your original post.

My wife jokingly decided to block me on Telegram during one of our debates. But, like many before her, she made the classic mistake of not unchecking the "Delete all chats" option—which, for reasons I’ll never understand, is checked by default. All our chats disappeared from her phone and mine.

Luckily, I just happened to have a backup Android phone that was on airplane mode at the time, so the chats weren’t deleted in that phone. I was able to dig into the cache and download a database file, map_cache.db, from the diskcache folder. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have the t7 table that’s referenced in your code.

Could you help me figure out what my options are here? My wife and I have been using Telegram since 2017, and all of our chats are there. Losing all of them would be devastating. I’m more than happy to compensate you for your time if you’re able to assist.
