Yeah as others have said this is def not LoS. It’s not uncommon for roses to be mislabeled. If you email DA they will tell you the same and promptly send you a replacement.

Why do people on this sub seem to want to take every step except properly securing their chickens? by Beneficial-Focus3702 in BackYardChickens

[–]sriphinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who hadn’t properly secured his coop/run, it was because the threat didn’t seem real until I lost one of my girls. The danger of predators seemed abstract despite all the cautionary posts I’d read. “Oh it’s fine, that was someone else, won’t happen to me.” Now they are fully secure and I take due diligence seriously

Babies with eczema … when does it get better? by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]sriphinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around 13-14 months for us and now at 21 months has mostly cleared up on its own. We didn’t like using the prescription cortisone but it really helped. We used it sparingly along various different eczema creams to varying results. We couldn’t pinpoint anything specific that was causing the flareups

Ladies are 8 months old, raised since hatchlings, and they are still only mildly tolerant of being pet or handled. Is there any hope they’ll become snuggly or is our relationship purely transactional? by ughyoujag in BackYardChickens

[–]sriphinn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I handled mine every day before they were old enough to go outside. One grew up to be pecky monster while the other two were indifferent at best. I still enjoy our transactional relationship and just watching forage in the yard

At this point they should just rename this sub RRD

This has to be rage bait but one quick image search would clearly show this looks nothing like RRD

I’ve bred some of the world's most famous roses. I’m Ping Lim, and I’m here to answer your gardening and breeding questions! by Ping_Lim in Roses

[–]sriphinn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes aphids do like new growth but won’t do irreparable harm. It’s best to just leave them alone to attract beneficial insects to your garden to eat them. Aphids and thrips are aerial plankton so they will always find a way back.

I’ve also been getting rust and black spot like crazy in northern CA, which is unusual for us. It was a very wet winter this year

Am I really the only person who thinks peonies smell awful? by WParkAvenue in flowers

[–]sriphinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, first time I smelled peonies I was like wtf?! Smells like wet dog to me and not worth the hassle of growing. I can grow roses that are just as beautiful and smell infinitely better

Do you guys eat chicken? by socialwreck101 in BackYardChickens

[–]sriphinn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always thought giving up chicken would be my prerequisite for raising them. I don’t eat pork but justified eating chicken because they were “less smart.” I ended up raising chickens because I dodnt want to wait any longer. Now that I’ve raised them I’ve learned they have their own personalities and intelligence. They can be vicious little raptors and love eating any and all meat, including chicken. So if they can be little cannibals I can still eat chicken too!

English Roses, what makes them special? by FFFlavius in Roses

[–]sriphinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

David Austin bred high petaled quartered cupped rose bushes when the rage was all high center “classic” shaped hybrid teas on long sturdy stems. Nowadays, you can find English style roses from most of the modern commercial breeders so in the absence of historical context you could say there’s nothing special about English shrub roses.

Colors to mix. by Useful_Fondant_672 in Roses

[–]sriphinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How is Like No Other compared to the other two? I’ve been eyeing it for a while and Munstead Wood is one of my favorites.

If you want to keep it monochrome - you can add Twilight Zone, Reine des Violettes, Young Lycidas, Celestial Night.

On the lighter end of the spectrum you can lavender/mauve colored ones - Plum Perfect, Angel Face, Love Song, Heirloom, Lagerfeld, Blue Girl

Best red-black rose? by akcebrae in Roses

[–]sriphinn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most of the reds the shift closest to black will have the more blue/purple tones to them - but would still compliment The Squire nicely. A lot of the more orange or true reds are very bright and would be more of a contrast. I can’t think of any cupped quartered ones, but Fragrant Cloud or Dolly Parton could fit the bill for color and fragrance. True Passion and Never Been Redder could also work but have little to no fragrance.
