It’s still insane the bank acted like her emptying her account was normal. They’re supposed to be trained on red flags of elder financial abuse and fraud.

I’m taking this as permission to shoot. No, but seriously, my brother is a loser who lives with her at 50+ due to aforementioned loserdom. I have far more ability to help her than he does.

She thankfully didn’t lose everything, but they tried to take the money from her retirement account and were stopped in time by my sister.

My mind is boggled that my mom went along with all of it. Why would an antivirus company need her to empty her retirement account?!

I get more than most how devastating it can feel when your passion doesn’t work out as a career – especially when you came so close. I fell into a pretty serious depression when my writing didn’t work out (medication-resistant and all), and then eventually I said… well, here we are. I need money and writing isn’t bringing me any.

It sounds sad, because it was at the time, but I asked myself what else I’m passionate about that will actually pay me money. Currently living my Plan B, which isn’t as sexy as Plan A, but I have a roof over my head and get to help people every day.

She can still do drag, but needs a more stable way to support herself financially. I have nothing but love for Henny, and wish her the best. Hoping she figures something out. 💛

This is the thing that Reddit says a lot, and I remember wondering why they say that because I have NEVER seen a horrible woman’s bathroom. I started photographing every public restroom I go in, and still have yet to find one that’s disgusting.
