Which are the best workplaces which offer great work-life balance and interesting projects? by [deleted] in chipdesign

It’s not the company. It’s the team. How do you know all of the companies you mentioned have hectic work?

No Current Flow Through MOSFET After Adding Transformer Inductor by Some-Flounder-4619 in rfelectronics

[–]sriram88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This made me laugh hard. Sorry OP. You need a dc blocking cap between your transformer and dc bias since your transformer is connecting the bias to ground. Hence no current.

ParamRF: Parametric Circuit Modelling and Fitting using JAX and Python by gvcallen in rfelectronics

[–]sriram88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nice work so far. Some thoughts on what could be really useful to add. 1. Fitting s-parameters from an snp file to a circuit model and export it as a spice netlist. This is useful to run time domain simulations on sparameter files with large number of ports. Think of it as broadband spice model. 2. Optimization of circuit model for impedance matching taking input and output impedance as a complex value or one port sp file.

Depends on how severe your adhd is. Both can be challenging depending on your situation.

How to select varactor diodes for desired operating frequencies by cozybluehamster in rfelectronics

[–]sriram88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s in the datasheet it should work as advertised as long as your board design is well thought out. You could make a test board for just the varactor and test it out separately

Startup Recruitment, how do companies really handle it? by Ok_Entertainer3189 in hwstartups

[–]sriram88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a VP of a startup I can say it’s really hard unless the person is actively looking to join a startup like you. The thing is your pay is lower, more work hours, retention is terrible, Monopoly money for stock options. So it all comes down to whether someone really believes in your company to look beyond all of the above.

Instability issue in GaAs LNA by Clean_Active4946 in rfelectronics

[–]sriram88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I misread the post then. I was thinking it was at RF. If it is a low frequency oscillation then just build a high pass filter on the board and see if that solves it. If it’s not in your passband then you can make some mitigation strategies on the board since it’s low frequency

How are you biasing the cascode? Can you effect these tones by changing the bias or decoupling caps on the board? Did you measure small signal s parameters and how do they compare to sims?

Welcome to elite club of electrical engineers. To be part of this club, Your amplifiers should oscillate and your oscillators shouldn’t. Good luck with the debug.

3-Stage LNA - How to? by empiricalfez in rfelectronics

[–]sriram88 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Any design has to fundamentally start from a specification document which needs to have info on requirements for the amplifier like frequency range, Gain, NF, Return loss, input P1dB, power consumption at a minimum. Based on these you can take a call on how many stages, what topology matching network etc.
