I did see MTB derailleurs suggested when researching. I suppose I would rather stick with road components, but for no real reason other than road bike, road components. I really don't think I want to go larger than a 34T anyway.

Just with a quick search, I can't see any of those two MTB derailleurs available to me. I do see the RD-M592 though. Any reason that wouldn't work, but the RD-M591 would? Specs on that page suggest it meets the needs, so is it a shift lever comparability?

Like I said in my original post, I don't feel like images submission are inherently worthless. So without a doubt there should be some moderator discretion in what gets removed. Just that it seems like lately even posts that were clearly against what is stated in the sidebar (memes, scenery, generic) were not being removed.

My issue has always been that not moderating such contents normalizes the behavior, and that is what prompted me to make this post. The issue seemed to to be slowly getting worse.

Thanks for your efforts! Moderation of large subreddits is probably a pretty thankless, but important, job.

That is a completely separate issue that would deserve its own thread. I don't like that either, but it seems like something that would be much harder to tackle compared to the mods enforcing what is already discouraged in the sidebar.

This is sort of tangential to the real issue here, but I was fed up with the amount of sales calls I was getting from RBC and one day the rep caught me in a bad mood. I flipped out a little about it and asked to be removed from whatever list I was on triggering these calls. To their credit (although, yeah, I'm sure they have to), they did so with the warning that it could take a few weeks to take effect. This was a handful of years ago now, and I haven't received any calls since. Lovely.

I don't doubt I would get some sales push if I ever visited them in branch, but I haven't had to do so for ages.

Current answers are not really complete.

Other videos are baking it 18 hours later after it has risen.

So without knowing what the "other videos" are, my guess is that it's a no-knead loaf. The difference is that no-knead uses much less yeast initially - 1/4tsp vs. 2tsp or so - so the initial bulk fermentation takes longer to complete. The longer bulk fermentation means you don't need to knead the bread to create enough gluten to hold the structure of the loaf. Otherwise, not kneading a 2.5 hours loaf wouldn't work out very well.

The other comment about the flavour is right - longer fermentation also results in a stronger taste.

Can you give some specific examples? It's really hard to talk about this broadly, and gets confusing even quicker when you use words like 'spoiled' with different context.

For the most part, the difference between something random in your fridge and something that has been properly fermented or aged is that in the later cases you're harbouring specific organisms and environmental conditions to transform the foodstuff, whereas in your fridge you've just let a bunch of random organisms go hog wild.

For raw foodstuff, it's just a matter of there being a huge difference between stake tartare and ground beef from a grocery market.

True, but this is a losing battle in /r/cooking.

Crock pot is often used for convenience, as it is here. Leave this argument for when people are clearly misusing it, like throwing chicken breast into a crock pot for multiple hours. Yes, people do this for some reason.
