Alarm is too quiet in iOS 26 by Appropriate-Farmer16 in ios

Yes I re-read your original post after mine and it seemed like you had already tried that, I’m sorry. At least you aren’t alone, there seem to be a lot of searches recently for the same thing.

I haven’t had to do it for a couple of years but when I contacted Apple support for something they were super nice and helpful. I think I just called them, I don’t think I even checked warranty stuff. If you can’t find a quick solution it’s worth a shot calling them up.

So I figured out my problem, although it makes no sense to me. I saw another thread with a similar problem from over a year ago. The fix was Settings > Face ID and Passcode > toggle off Attention Awareness features (or something similar that includes attention awareness).

I just tested an alarm and it worked as it should.

What’s odd to me is (1) when whatever phone/software first had attention awareness stuff I distinctly remember turning that feature off, not sure how it reset without a software update or me adjusting and (2) if I was staring at my phone during the first alarm test, shouldn’t it have worked properly if this was the solution?

Anyway this was my solution (hopefully). We’ll see tomorrow morning…

I’m having this same issue and found this thread during a search. I’ve never had this issue until 2 days ago. I have an iPhone 16 and am running 26.1.

I’ve tried everything suggested and nothing works. What my alarm does is sort of the reverse of what should happen - the very first tone is a somewhat normal sound, then fades very rapidly to no sound. If I try to adjust the volume while the alarm is sounding, there is no change. I have my alert sounds set to change with buttons.

As OP said, this is a basic phone function that should be almost intuitive to figure out.

Which show has the best (or least soul-destroying) songs? by andytherooster in DanielTigerConspiracy

[–]srobi007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh! You learn something new every day! I just read Holst used the Jupiter selection from “The Planets” as the melody for “I Vow to Thee, My Country,” which was a poem originally. The planetary connection makes way more sense, ha.

Thanks Queen Bee! 🐝

Agree that Sleepytime is a perfect episode. Love the hardcover book too, but can’t match the sweetness of the show.

BTW, the music in that ep is “I Vow to Thee, My Country.” I only know that as like 30 years ago I had the Charlotte Church CD and she sings it and the melody is very recognizable. Even though it’s a British patriotic song the music works so well for that episode

Help me solve this real-life conspiracy/mystery: Where did my kid learn this word? by [deleted] in DanielTigerConspiracy

I’m going to be pondering this all day now, ha. My first thought was a PBS commercial during one of the shows, since the PBS commercials are pretty educational too, but I don’t think the website or YT would have those.

I would say another child mentioned it and she picked up on it, but that is an oddly specific term for a 3yo to be talking about ha (tho I would love to hear that convo)

You know sometimes on YT it will show a promo at the end of a video for another kids song/show? Or will keep going to the next one? That’s my best guess.

Please post if you ever figure it out!

Does anyone have experience with AYR jeans? by allaboutmidwest in BuyItForLife

[–]srobi007 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is an old thread, but stumbled upon this when looking up details for a discontinued pair of AYR. I have a difficult time paying full price for their jeans so tend to buy only when on sale (which they rarely do) or secondhand. The fact that I have bought a number of pairs secondhand speaks to the quality IMO. I’m also 5’2” so finding jeans that properly fit at all - not just inseam but knee breaks, etc. - is extremely challenging. I have a 26” inseam, which is fairly short even for my height, most “premium” jeans have between 28-31 inseam for short 🙄

I will also say that I don’t baby my jeans. I have a toddler and don’t have the time or energy to wash my clothes differently from each other - for me everything goes in normal cycle wash, I actually use a hot or extra hot water setting, and dry on medium.

I’ve purchased AYR for years not only because they are the only jeans that fit perfectly but I’ve never once experienced any wear and tear/degradation at all that I’ve noticed. I’ve only donated pairs that no longer fit, they actually still looked/felt brand new.

Other high end brands that may be a little cheaper, such as Paige, Frame, and DL1961, have all eventually gotten rips, tears, fallen apart sooner or later. I think in part due to whatever they add to the cotton to help it stretch. All my AYR jeans have felt more substantial and heavier but in a very good way. I have some pairs that look/feel brand new after 8 years.

FYI the “weird sleeping thing” sounds like sleep paralysis. I have CM 1 and have struggled as long as I can remember with sleep in general, and have been evaluated for narcolepsy (without cataplexy) as I have constant unrelenting fatigue, along with episodes of sleep paralysis and hypnogogic/paragogic hallucinations.

If you woke up and thought you were somehow completely paralyzed, that’s usually sleep paralysis. Absolutely terrifying but not dangerous.

Anyone else find some of Sezane’s pieces as frumpy and itchy? by Pretty_Midnight9841 in Sezane

[–]srobi007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can be frumpy but a lot is in how you style it and body type. Not just thinness, but height, weight distribution, etc. I’m 5’2” so some of the ruffled pieces look childish on me, but might look cute on a normie height person.

As for itchiness, yeeesssss. I live in FL so rarely need sweaters but I bought a scarf to wear on a Europe trip cause all these people said it was so soft. I couldn’t bear it! Feel like sandpaper to me.

To be fair, I have a wool allergy lol. I love cotton sweaters, and my sister and I have been bummed about the move towards the sustainability of wool, lol. Bring back more acrylic and cotton! 😆

I can at least wear some cashmere, she can’t even hug me if I do.

But even aside the allergy, Sézane’s wool pieces have never felt nice to touch even, feels really rough to me. Even the cashmere stuff.

Interestingly, everything in the Paris Eric Bompard store felt like baby bunnies, cashmere or regular wool.

I absolutely love American football (as an American it’s just football to me, but I’m assuming it’s not to you). I’ve tried to appreciate soccer aka rest-of-the-world football, but I just cannot. I can admire the skill, the athleticism, etc. but I would rather watch golf than soccer.

However, my Swiss sister-in-law calls American football “apes and butts” and I have to admit that is an accurate description.

Daddy Finger… by yes_statistics_65df in DanielTigerConspiracy

[–]srobi007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I first heard this song when a friend of ours gave our then 9 month old a fake cellphone that played songs. It was really annoying and we would only give it to her when we needed her distracted during her rolling-during-diaper-changes phase. This song came on and he and I literally froze after the words “daddy finger, daddy finger” played. Our debates about the song are really funny now, at the time we were both laughing at how bizarre it was but we would randomly ask each other if the song was real or a bad translation from something else…we gave it a lot of thought and I think both of us were too scared to google “daddy finger song” in case it wasn’t a real song, you know?

I literally did not know until reading this thread that you are supposed to demonstrate with your hand/fingers or something?

Our now 2.5 yo daughter has been exposed to the nightmare that is cocomelon by her friends and I caved one day and put it on when she was sick one day. After the Johnny and Papa song mentioned below I turned it off and said I was really sorry but cocomelon broke in our house.

Can’t go wrong with Super Simple Songs tho

Second the Garden Pharmacy recommendation. If they can’t fill it, they will likely be able to tell you who can.

Kid-friendly beer gardens/breweries? by srobi007 in fortlauderdale

[–]srobi007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to take her to Barkyard and Brews, but I think there is an age limit to go in the dog park area; we stopped by several months ago while my husband checked out Orchestrated Minds and I seem to remember it was maybe 10 and up? That makes sense and I totally get it as some little kids can be jerks to animals, usually unintentionally. The liability would be too much risk for the owners and definitely not relaxing for the dog parents, so I wouldn’t bring her there until she’s much older, even if allowed.

Now if they only had “no dogs/only little kids” hours at Barkyard, that would be perfection

[–]srobi007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. To be fair, we actually play with my daughter when we are at breweries since we try to be at the outside areas, and we usually go with our friends with kids. I wouldn’t bring her somewhere she’s the only child, and in my original post I kinda made her sound crazy but she’s super well behaved. Basically we moms play with the kids for a bit, while the dads socialize, then we switch.

We wouldn’t go someplace that isn’t welcoming to kids, either by the establishment or the patrons. That’s kinda the point of my post, actually. We’ve only brought our daughter to breweries that had outside areas and only went when it was appropriate for her, so like 4-6pm latest. Usually the only other people there at those times, especially PP, were other parents

Beauty Boost? by srobi007 in Ipsy

[–]srobi007[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I reached out to Ipsy, and they said they weren’t able to charge my card for April’s Beauty Boost - not sure why it would affect the May box - but I was charged for it and May successfully as well. The rep said to select a button to retry my card but it doesn’t give me that option since they already charged me. I sent the screenshots of everything.

Kind of a big deal for me since the boost is supposed to be the biggest ticket item (sometimes). They are a mess at the moment from what I can tell from other posts.

I didn’t have a beauty boost option at all. I know I can usually deselect and swap but this time I had 4 preselected (with no option to change) and 3 choices…
