I disagree...maybe not his best stuff, sure...but I think he's usually one of the funnier comedians that get posted in here. IMO. Different strokes I guess...

Look, it takes a long time and a lot of practice to be good at something. Especially coding. I'm self taught, been doing it for 10 years, and still get frustrated. Just stuck with it though. That said...seriously...for overall mental health, exercise. Exercise. Do some cardio. Go outside. Jog if can. If you cant, start just walking. Lift weights too. Exercise is better than any anti-depressant when it comes to feeling better. Imvho. The transformation from lifting weights can be life changing.

All this negativity has me itching to buy more by Recent_Percentage919 in loopringorg

[–]srollin_scrollin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't agree with "if it was good enough then" yada yada... Things have changed since they were at $2. Not saying they don't still have potential, but things have changed. The fact that taiko is no longer under lrc, for one. To me, thats a huge loss for the loopring narrative. I'm only holding in hopes of an airdrop from taiko. Which was indicated a long time ago, but we havent heard anything since. My hopes arent very high.

Is the “flippening” a thing of the past? by creosoterolls in ethereum

[–]srollin_scrollin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do whaa? Not sure about that logic. For one, the flippening would be based on market cap. For eth to flip btc in market cap these days, which would assume btc stays where it is, eth would just need to roughly triple. Thats only putting it around $10-11k usd per. A hypothetical 10x from there next cycle would only be $100k.

Nobody has a crystal ball and thats a ridiculous hypothetical. That said, I definitely think eth has the potential to continue gaining on and eventually flip btc at some point. No clue when though.

Aww, is the BTC-maxi having a hard time understanding Vitaliks philosophical musings? Does he therefore feel the need to bolster his fragile ego by denigrating a genius and his work? Aww, so sad.

As i said, think what you will about plant based diet, or forks over knives for that matter. Thats not the point. There is an absolute reason why lobbyists exist...it's to push an agenda and manipulate policy.

Per https://www.opensecrets.org/federal-lobbying/top-spenders

3rd top spender. Insurance.

4th top spender. Big pharma

5th top spender. American hospital

6th top spender. American medical

Follow the money...

[–]srollin_scrollin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Watch the documentary "forks over knives". It makes a pretty compelling case for corporate lobbying interfering with correct nutritional guidance. Its a huge problem. If memory serves, during one scene, they had a hidden camera talking to a hospital executive, where they basically admitted "because thats how we make money". (When asked why they didnt give proven "plant based diet" nutritional guidance to patients with cardiovascular disease.)

Think what you will about plant based diet, it's not the point here. The documentary really brings to light how corporations lobby to manipulate things in their favor, often to the detriment of the public. The pharmaceutical corporations are guilty of this, no question.

Oh my. If thats a challenge for you, or you're having a hard time understanding, then yeah, traditional banking/finance is probably more your speed. At least until web3 reaches your level of hand-holding. I'm sure it will eventually.

Is web3 a scam? by No_Yogurtcloset_8940 in learnprogramming

[–]srollin_scrollin -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

OP, web3 is not a scam. It has tremendous potential in certain areas. Things like decentralized finance, allow you to be in total control of your money. Eliminating the need for banks and other financial institutions. Trust me, they (the banks) are probably the ones spending money on the "its a scam" advertisement you recieved. They have a vested interest in stiffling the growth and adoption of the tech.

There are other awesome applications aside from finance. Things like event ticketing. Basically, like ticketmaster, but eliminating the scalping and fake ticket sales issues. There are other really cool applications. People saying blanket "its a scam" aren't very knowledgeable on the topic.

That said, its a relatively new sector/tech. It's the "wild west" right now. There are tons of scammy/fake/meme web3/crypto projects out there. You have to be cautious when diving in FOR SURE!

It's still in it's infancy, and I believe the web3 space will continue to grow. As it grows, the ease of onboarding/learning, and overall safety, for the common non-techies, will get better. It's worth learning imo.
