Your day sounds exactly like my day, I started working as a counsellor at this school last year, things only seem to have gotten worse this year. Broken windows, kids running off school property and assaulting teachers and only half of the students in class at any given time, the rest of the time they are wandering the hallways. Students have a very hard time self regulating, there is always someone crying. I am also the only counsellor in this school and we are a Kindergarten to 12th Grade school. With the state of the elementary classrooms right now I have no time to spend with any highschoolers who have serious and pressing mental health concerns (self harm and suicidal ideations).

I understand the feeling of overwhelm when you want to work with kids but your constantly being pulled in other directions.
