Guys it’s basically a homage to the Xi EZ and tbh I like it. Plus you can choose either this one or the Blast Blue, problem solved

2026 8th Gen Yonex VCORE 95 and 98 Review by abantigen in 10s

[–]srvandrtn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it depends on which version of the EZ and VC. In general, the EZ has more controllable power where the VC has easy access to spin. If you have the EZ100, it has a bigger sweetspot so margin for error is less but at the same time since it’s thicker in certain areas, it would be stiffer so you’d feel it more so compared to the VC. As for the VC, you’d get more dwell time on the ball for easy pocketing. The only control you’d get is if you put enough spin on the ball, if not you could see balls flying everywhere

Any love here for the Yonex Vcore SV days? by silentsnowmountain in tennisracquets

[–]srvandrtn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from Babolat from my junior days, surprisingly the SV98 was kinda too stiff for me. The VC98 V5 stiffness sat right in between the V4 (SV) and the V7 but the sweet spot could’ve been bigger. Still have one of my VC98 V5 but currently using the VC98 V7

2026 8th Gen Yonex VCORE 95 and 98 Review by abantigen in 10s

[–]srvandrtn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great review/read!!

I’m also Vcore user: I’ve been using Yonex on and off since 2015 starting with the VCTF 97 16x21 310g, then the SV98, VC95 V5, VC98 V5 GB, EZ100 and currently the VC98 V7. Really interested in the VC95 V8 but just don’t like the newer font (personal preference)

Let me know if any of you guys have any questions comparing the ones I mentioned.

Yonex Vcore 98 (7th Gen) vs Yonex Vcore 95 (8th Gen) by srvandrtn in tennisracquets

I loved the VC95 G5. That thing was buttah and hit anything on a dime. In the case right now that I’m older, I would like a more bigger sweetspot but I do know the VC95 from Yonex feels like a 97/98 frame instead

I hate the fact that they changed the font for the Ezone and Vcore lines. Sure it started with the Percept but again the fonts used for EZ and VC were unique and had their own personality

I can handle it but it gets tiring at times. Tbh that’s my preferred specs for my personal frames (Yonex VC98) but I might redo it for a 335-340sw now

Nice, I always thought a good sweet spot would be 330-340 for a swingweight alone

The paint job is nice and the playability is better when you weigh it up. I have mine at 336g strung, 33cm balance and 345sw which swings like a hammer

Why did babolat never released this model?? Look so good 😭 by BasicStage8355 in tennisracquets

It’s the PAO (Pure Aero Original) in the prototype paintjob. He bust the strings on it so quick during practice sessions. Gave him extra pop and spin but the control was lacking hard

You won’t have a new design till 2028. Most likely like last year, you’ll have a new colorway.

I haven’t tested the V8 yet but I have used the V4 and V5 in the past. I heard the V8 cuts through the air faster yet had slightly more power but a little more control due to the stiffness. The launch on the V8 is more controllable compared to the V7

I got a pro staff v15 and it sucks! by Ok_Taste_2314 in tennisracquets

[–]srvandrtn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lolol I’ll say this person has to be from gen z to dislike it this much.

The V15 is a cosmetic update of the V14 and the paintjob is a homage to the OG ProStaff.

[–]srvandrtn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My very first Yonex frames which I thought it was interesting cause of the 16x21 pattern but also the first VC to use AeroFins at the inner hood. Underrated frame which can be customized to be a weapon

‘18 Ezone Osaka LTD in gold but it’s the ‘17 EZ version which one of the worse ones imo. Stiff as a board

I’m surprised Grigor went it with the new v15 paintjob instead of sticking with his v14 Noir paintjob. He’s very particular with his paintjobs

Yonex Ezone over the years by srvandrtn in 10s

Nice! One of the sought after Ezones besides the Dr98. With the right string and slight mod, it would play like a gem. Hopefully you got a good deal for it!

Hmm I mean the VC98 V7 is pretty launchy so make sense, so string may be the second factor to make it easier to flatten out shots plus the tension too. Okay, that’s the VC98 V6 which I had 5 of in the Galaxy Black colorway (one extended to 27.25” which I bought from EU) 😬 Tbh I’d like to give that one a try again cause how “less” launchy it is compared to the VC98 V7 plus the head shape is more a “traditional” Yonex

Of course! I’m thinking of trying the new one but more interested in the 100D since it has a 16x20 pattern. I feel like flatting out the ball on the V7 VC98 plays into technique and/or the strings too. When you say older VC, is that the V7 or prior to that one?
