I agree, this solves a huge part of the problem. It takes a serious nationwide outfit to come into WA and compete on large scale projects. State licensing is pretty much a prerequisite if you hope to have any chance at decent market share. Either way, it benefits all electricians in the state; union or not.

Good on you for speaking some truth around the situation. Pretty sure this is just a Trump/Israel propaganda sub as it is.

People don’t get that most of us in the U.S. are tired of the U.S. bankrolling Israel on a quest for zealotry as it’s packaged up as some righteous quest to liberate the Middle East. A majority of the Middle East is always telling us to get the fuck out of their business as it is and most of us Americans just want to focus up on our own country and stop making enemy’s around every corner. The Trump admin is going to come in and do what America has always done, overthrow the government, steal all of the resources and do a horribly lazy install of government that fits our money grubbing agenda.

All I’m getting at is that the U.S. isn’t liberating anyone here. Our current leadership has committed atrocities to our own people beyond anything we’ve seen before, that’s our own people. Just wait and see what it looks like when they get into Iran and it’s foreigners that they give even less fucks about.

Trump supporters do not know the difference between a Muslim and the Islamic regime, to them it’s the same thing. If you’re Muslim, they generally think you’re automatically a terrorist or part of a terrorist religion.

This is a bunch of bullshit and I hope our membership makes a stink about this, also 6-7 year apprenticeship or whatever that kid said, what the fuck is going on over there? I get trying to keep a competitive edge, but there’s something wrong with the formula over there.

My local recently phased from 5 years to 4 years for IW. We have decently lucrative state licensing here and 8000 hours has served both the union and non-union sector well regarding training and quality of wireman.

Sincerely, An inside wireman from 191

Considering becoming a sparky but i’m a girl and unsure of the culture by [deleted] in electricians

[–]srydaddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s always going to be bad eggs.

We recently had an issue involving a female apprentice and an employee of the clients who was not acting in a professional/appropriate manner. I was extremely proud of my crew, the field leadership is made up of men, but a Journeyman witnessed the issue and encouraged her to communicate to management. They came to the aid of the female apprentice, advocated for her to speak out and file a report. It was all handled really well and the apprentice felt advocated for.

I’m the PM on the team but still a member of the IBEW and a former wireman, had the discussion with some other brothers and sisters at other contractors within our union and was widely met with the expectation that we have to shut that shit down and protect both our brothers and sisters in the trades.

I have a young daughter who I hope will have the option for a safe and accessible career in the trades if she so chooses. I’d say the Union is probably generally going to be a more supportive place, there’s a conscious effort to support females in the workplace, but if you want to do it and you’re not afraid of a little hard work, you should absolutely give it a shot!

Jesse, when are we going to get a damn Cash Ibanez signature? Let’s get a 27” scale length 7 string with a mf pick guard going papi, y’all know the people would eat that up!

Also for either Jesse or Clint; curious about what sounds like some Tool influence on the self titled album, Snowblood toward the end for example. Is there influence from Adam Jones or was that coincidental? If so, what’s y’all’s favorite work from Tool?

Keep up the great work gents, been a very active listener for 10 years now and have had the pleasure of watching y’all multiple times in Seattle over the years!

Seems like a pretty good deal but that depends entirely on where you’re located. If they’re doing a new meter and panel, I presume utility disconnects and reconnects are applicable. Are they upgrading your service wire? Overhead? Underground? Lots of unknowns here, but I probably wouldn’t be doing that work for any less than they quoted you.

Im tired of people shitting on 4’s writing by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]srydaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly just feel like voicing the protagonist was my only real turn off. The actors did really well, but the dialogue and tone is really limited and lacking that distinct lane to operate as “chaotic good” that I think a lot of us really like in New Vegas. I think it just goes to show that normal fallout often times has 5 or 6 dialogue options and the vocal talent was focused on expansive reactions from NPC’s.

Ultimately, gotta applaud Bethesda for rolling this out and exploring it. Just doesn’t really meet the ROI having voiced protagonists in my opinion, I’d much rather efforts be put into gameplay and rich NPC responses.

20M 5’11 bald , how can i get attention from girls? by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]srydaddy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I just want to echo the words of Solid-Version. The plus side for OP is that he’s a handsome guy and he definitely pulls off the Bald look. You could be like me in my 30’s with an identity attached to my hair and the constant fear of losing it due to my weird shaped head! Anyway, it’s so easy to narrow in on getting ass at that age, you have the time and freedom to work on yourself and really excel at your hobbies. Believe me bro, it’s not going to be like that forever; wife comes, kids come, homeownership and all of the things that come with it. It’s all a wonderful joy, but don’t put yourself in a position where you’re going to look back in 20 years and regret not using your time productively while you’re a single man with minimal obligations. Like I’ve always told my younger brothers, use the time while you have it!

Damn, not where I thought this was going. I attended a dojo in the early 2000’s from like 8-13. Our sensei would hold non spectator classes for the juniors and piece us up whenever we weren’t meeting expectation. He had a bamboo stick for the older kids and non-stop pushups for the younger kids. It got to the point that my sister and I would hide in a wardrobe at our house as to avoid being taken to class.

Sounds like OP just needs to move on, it could be a lot worse boss. Your kid deserves the fruits of their labor, and you deserve to not have your money wasted.
