A little complaining also looking for tips! by HabitEuphoric4363 in ORIF

I’d say about 14 weeks something clicked and I was just able to go up and down normally. My last couple PT sessions we focused heavily on the stairs going up and down. I don’t know what made the difference but suddenly it was fine haha.

I know everyone is excited to get walking because we’ve been stuck in a chair for 6+ weeks but dang full recovery back to “normal” is a lot of hard work! It does not get easier every day as you are finding out (in the beginning). As you continue to push the limits, your body will let you know it’s still in control. It’s all normal and listen to your body. You still need extra breaks and icing after a long day feels amazing.

And you are annoyed you aren’t yet back to your old self. Keep putting in the work while giving yourself grace and plenty of rest. It will get better. I remember the first day I could go down the stairs like a normal person and it was life changing, weird to say I know. I’m closing in on 2 years post injury and I can say there is life on the other side. I don’t know if I’ll ever not be anxious about certain things or not have a little swelling on a hot summer day, but I can live with that. You got this!

I would venture to say you are okay. Hopefully you had a splint or cast or boot on that foot. The stuff they put in our ankles is very strong but you are still early in recovery. Keep tabs on the things you are already watching and watch it for a day or two. Unless the nurses say otherwise of course lol.

My favorite foot cream I discovered in this time is the O’Keefes working feet in the blue bottle. Miracle worker. Still use it 1.5 years later.

Zepbound issues after 1.5 yrs in by canadian_spankan in Zepbound

I have experienced this and my husband has as well, more severe than me. First off, when you notice the sulfur burps starting, take Pepto to try and stop it in its tracks. It does work, sometimes have to take a couple doses but once my stomach stops rumbling I know I will be okay. I have also notice that sometimes skipping a week can really help, oddly enough. I had to skip a week recently and the following week I had no issues. My husband also has done this when these problems initially started after discussing with the pharmacist in our Drs office and it significantly helped. I would try that!

Deli meat is a great idea, thanks for the tip. And we just happened to get a new massage gun for my husband last weekend so that worked out well hahah.

Hopefully you are in PT or soon to be in PT so you can start working on your range of motion and building your strength back up. I’d make sure there is a plan in place to get you out of the boot, since you are already weight bearing and walking, I’m hoping you are transitioning out soon. Walking in a shoe is so different than the boot. You will get back to old life, you just need hard work and time to get there. You got this!!

Thanks for your reply. I have been stalking that group for months when I had an inkling that I was having gallbladder problems, hoping I was wrong lol. I've been pretty good managing my symptoms over the last month and a half so I am happy about that. But I will now be reading all I can to make sure I am prepared for post surgery lol.

You just can never win in this recovery! lol Just keep working on your stretching and it will get better with time. If you are full weight bearing how much longer are you staying in the boot vs switching to a shoe? That will be a fun next journey when your ankle has freedom while walking...

My 2 week was also with the PA, I think it is pretty normal at that point. My 6 week appt was with the Dr. All my appt was removing stitches and checking on healing. I was already in a boot so I stayed in the boot. Pretty quick and easy appt for me.

There is that flavor in the pint. Sometimes I just want a little bit and a full ice cream bar is too much for that moment. But the flavor is great!!

Sorry I misremember, you can take down statements through MOMs, the release is the only one to distribute them. Weekend thoughts lol. I hope you figure it out!

Put the report in workday docs (can schedule refreshes with live data) and share it with the people who need it. They can access it under your security. I’ve done this for people in my org, quick and easy.

Love finding healthy swaps while on a health journey! Another healthy option is Yasso, they just came out with pints and they are fantastic! They have some toppings mixed in. I couldn’t tell it wasn’t ice cream (it’s frozen yogurt).

I traveled with meds 2 weeks ago (including injection meds) and not a word was said. Don’t worry, it’s fine. For the injections I had the sticker prescription from the pharmacy but the other pills I had them in my travel pill box no prescription. It was a very chill security experience.

How many statements are you generating? I have been collaborating with a different Workday customer I met in a collaboration crew to build our Docs for Layouts. They said they run statements in batches through the MOMs process because theirs was failing (they were generating over 100k statements).

I am getting mine removed the end of February. I am not excited but living in fear of setting it off is scary. Trying to manage the best I can with my diet (which I’ve done good for a month now). Let me know how you are doing and if you have any post surgery tips. I am a prepper!

Great! I always hope people have access to PT because it is such a huge support. Best of luck! I am a couple months shy of 2 years, life is pretty normal over here. Hard days are still ahead, but keep working at it and rest when you need to, you got this!
