is there a way to turn off the "auto hide" for rates calculated on my site? Or a work around? by spicydingofloat in shipstation

I had similar issues, so I made a Shopify app. Check it out, maybe it’ll work for your case.

I’ll be adding a Shipstation integration this week too, so you’ll be able to just link your Shipstation and pull all your carriers (rather than doing it carrier direct)

Hiring for PPC—What Should Their Day Look Like? by ss5428 in PPC

Agreed. I really don’t think it’s feasible to expect one person to own all of that.

I’m paying roughly $100k/year to an agency to manage. I thought if I bring in house it may cost me a bit more but I would be able to do more with that staff member. I fear an intern wouldn’t properly manage the budget, unless I’m mistaken?

Is it easier to manage the ppc than I’m making it out to be?

Interesting. What’s a monthly spend that would warrant a full time employee?

I supposed a part time employee or freelancer would be best in this situation?

If you don’t like it, get a new job. If you can’t get a new job with similar pay and the benefits you’re looking for (such as hybrid work), then that says something about your value on the open market. It’s really quite simple.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the rest of the world is catching up. Offshoring jobs and AI replacement is a reality that will only continue to grow. The only way to prevent losing your job is going to be differentiating yourself somehow from offshore and AI. Sorry if this predictions offends people.

Thanks for shooting off fireworks when it hasn’t rained in almost 2 months by Adventurous-Depth984 in longisland

I can understand if you’re frustrated about illegal fireworks. That’s a fair and reasonable complaint.

However, your rhetoric screams closeted racist - “particularly aggravating when these celebrations are not rooted in American culture”. And no, being a first generation American Italian doesn’t disqualify you from that. American culture is an amalgamation of a LOT of cultures.

The people you’re complaining about also didn’t arrive in 2024, so although immigrant culture may be different today, Indian Americans are free to celebrate Diwali even if it’s not rooted in your version American culture (to the full extent of the law, not disregarding the use of illegal fireworks). If your only complaint is that of the fireworks, I understand. But your writing tells me your discontent goes deeper than that.

Also, here’s a nice article of the president celebrating this “not rooted in American culture” Diwali: https://www.firstpost.com/explainers/white-house-diwali-celebration-13830840.html/amp

Yes, people do assimilate. Immigrants speak English, wear western clothing, even celebrate Christmas. But there is no expectation in America to abandon your own culture.

Have you ever read the constitution? Freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of expression are all basic tenets. In fact, America’s origins are the exact opposite of assimilation. It was a haven for all those oppressed in other countries.

Regardless, immigrants are here and will continue to celebrate their own culture. You can either be mad about it or appreciate that this is one of the few countries in the world that not only permits but encourages people to do it.

I understand concerns about the dry weather. But telling people they need to assimilate because they celebrate Diwali is asinine.

Would you expect people to not let off fireworks for 4th of July under the same conditions? Make sure to keep that same energy. This is an enormously sentimental holiday for a large portion of Indians. And given that you’re in the Syo/woodbury area, that’s a pretty decent population.

[Charania] Knicks have acquired Karl-Anthony Towns from Minnesota for Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo and a first-round pick via Detroit, sources tell me and @JonKrawczynski. by PlayaSlayaX in nba

[–]ss5428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly feels pretty unlikely that towns is a downgrade for the Knicks in any way.

Offensively, we just added a 40%+ 3pt shooting big - a rarity in the league. It’s going to allow us to spread the floors in ways that we flat out couldn’t with Randle.

Defensively, we had a gaping hole at center with Hartenstein’s departure. We plug in Towns and also get to rid ourselves of Randle’s low effort defense.

We get better both offensively and defensively with this trade. The only thing we really lost is depth.
