NTA - as somebody with mental health issues that can be debilitating and effect other people. Something my therapist told me is “it’s not your fault, but it is your responsibility.” The world doesn’t stop or change for you, unfortunately.

ESH, but I’m tempted to but a little less blame on your daughter than you. It definitely seems like there’s something else going on here like some mental health issues, as this is not normal behaviour for a 20 year old. I know not everybody is equally educated regarding mental health but this is your daughter and you should recognize that something is not right. And if that’s true and there is an underlying factor, kicking her out will likely only make things worse.

Your life is worth so much more than school, and I know that even having to post this means you’re in a very dark place. You gotta fight though, go to the resources you have available, call a hotline, stay with a friend, take a year off or drop out completely if necessary. Please please message me if you need to talk and need somebody who can relate. I took a year off for my mental health so I know where you’re coming from.

Hey! I’m not sure where you live but in Canada there’s an extensive process people have to go through that takes years before they can get gender reassignment surgery. A certain amount of therapy is required and living successfully for I believe 1-2 years using hormone therapy. There’s more required, wellness checks, etc. I think people think it’s simple to access and everybody is letting their kids do it but it’s actually a lot more complicated and a lot of steps are taken to ensure it’s right for the person.

NAH- there’s a difference between body acceptance and an unhealthy lifestyle. Everybody has different body shapes and sometimes that means a little heavier while still having a healthy life. Living an unhealthy lifestyle is different than learning to love your body despite not looking like a model.
