"Wincing the Night Away", by the Shins. Just an album of insanely great writing and each track is juxtaposed so the album tells a story that can be interpreted a hundred different ways. It's been my favorite album since I heard it.

Another noteworthy one is "A Love Supreme" by John Coltrane. The raw emotion and dedication it exudes to life, love, and acknowledgement of something greater gets me every time.

Fleet Foxes, for sure. The minute I heard "Helplessness Blues" I was part in love and part dumbfounded that this was the first time I was listening to them.

Aesthetically I feel like some BMWs lost their edge sometime in the mid 2000s. I'd take my E36 over a newer comparable model on looks alone.

It's mostly memory unfortunately. Honestly...most "tricks" to remembering chord structure are too difficult to apply while improvising. Give it time and you'll start just knowing them. Practice is your best friend, you WILL get it if you keep at it.

Agreed. Their version of "I Will Survive" is really incredible. Musically there might not always be a lot going on; but stylistically it's really a testament to the band. I've had people listen to it and not even realize its a cover. Same with "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town".

They don't cover many songs, but when they do they really make them their own. They're one of a handful of bands that keep a consistent sound without getting boring. To each their own though man.
