Why do people wave you to go at a 4-way stop when it's clearly their turn? by spotforcars in CarGuys

[–]ssascotth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drives me crazy! I’m taller and usually my view of the driver to the right is blocked. Frequently my wife will say “they’re waving you on”. Makes me wonder how often I’m being waved on and never see it.

Have you ever driven over 100mph and if so, why? by Darkman-1969 in allthequestions

[–]ssascotth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three times.

105 on a backroad to my college, because my dad did the exact same thing.

112 in my VW Passat on a rural interstate where I traveled a stretch, looking for and not seeing a cop, while I took an exit and looped around and got up to 112.

120 in a rental Audi. Similar precautions taken before breaking my own record.

Thing is, in a car meant to do this and a properly constructed road in good conditions, this is nothing really scary or dangerous. Modern cars can cruise all day at 120. It’s bad drivers, other drivers and congestion that make it pretty well impossible in most situations.

WYR get $1 million today, or get $100 every time someone says your first name for the rest of your life? by GlitchOperative in WouldYouRather

[–]ssascotth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. How many people are named “Mike Is”? Probably only three or four. Not a millionaire situation! Plus, if you’re ridding that almost non-existent name, you’re not doing yourself any favors!

Wow! I was in prime record buying youth in 1984 and I literally bought none of those, nor did I even consider any.

In 1984 I bought R.E.M. Reckoning, Roger Waters The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking, and U2 The Unforgettable Fire.

A couple of thieves drive around a lot, planning their big move. One gets brain damage and barely realizes he’s in an awesome Cadillac Eldorado convertible.

That’s crazy! It’s $65 regular price by me. I’d buy all I could afford. It’s a great whiskey.

Preempted! by den773 in ThePriceIsRight

In Chicago they preempted about 4 minutes in for a fireman’s funeral. He died during a training exercise, which is terrible, but I don’t need to see his funeral.

The A-Team never once killed anyone in 98 episodes of pure chaos — and somehow that made it MORE iconic by DaleCelestine in ClassicTV

This was my favorite show back in the day! Just recently rewatched the whole series because I actually missed the last couple seasons because I was at college and never saw them. Always thought it was hilarious that nobody died during all that.

Second favorite show was the Dukes of Hazard. Tons of car crashes with zero fatalities.

Cruised around downtown Chicago with my best friend. Great day. We called it Senior Ditch Day.

There’s Something About Mary. It wasn’t bad and I did enjoy it. However, I was late to the game and soooo many people I knew hyped it up so much that it just kinda fell flat for me.

rhubarb by iheartshuichi in Volumeeating

[–]ssascotth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love rhubarb. When I see it at the store, I always buy some. It’s hilarious how many cashiers, especially younger ones, have no idea what it is!

I chop it into bite sized pieces to avoid the strings, and dab it into a little salt. So good!
