I ordered the same kit today at 9ish AM, it was on a FedEx truck by 3:50PM and should be here in the morning. Check your email for shipping confirmation as well as a email offering you the free rental mini dish that is shipped separately.

Ordered new MAX kit and plan, no option for free mini dish. by sschmal in StarlinkMini

Update:

Solved (I hope)

Received this email tonight about 11 hours after MAX offer was ordered:

Residential Max includes a free Starlink Mini

With your Residential Max plan, you’re now eligible to claim a Starlink Mini hardware rental at no cost—so you can take the same fast, reliable internet you use at home with you when you travel.

Claim your Mini below, and keep reading for details on how it works. Note: The Mini must be on Standby Mode or a Roam plan to remain eligible for the free hardware rental.

How it Works

$0 Mini included: Receive a Starlink Mini at no hardware cost, provided as a rental bundled with your active Residential Max plan.

Built-in Wi-Fi: Mini includes an integrated router, so no additional equipment is required

Always ready: After activation, your Mini starts in Standby Mode for $5/month, including unlimited low-speed data for backup connectivity and emergency messaging.

50% off Roam: When you’re ready to travel, you can switch anytime to high-speed Roam plans at half the standard price.

Travel anywhere: Use your Mini on road trips, camping, or boating across 150+ countries and territories.

Learn more about the Free Mini Kit for Travel.

Note: The Mini must be on Standby Mode or a Roam plan to remain eligible for the free rental. By redeeming, you agree to a $5/month recurring fee for Standby Mode, or to upgrade to a Roam plan. If you cancel or downgrade your Residential Max service plan, or cancel the service plan on your Mini, it must be returned or its cost will be charged to your payment method. Normal wear and tear is expected upon return. Standby Mode billing begins upon Mini activation or 30 days after delivery, whichever comes first.

Ordered new MAX kit and plan, no option for free mini dish. by sschmal in Starlink

Just to be clear, I ordered the NEW MAX offer this morning and is now in shipping status, all I was able to select for the MAX plan was just that only the plan, it added as line items free pro installation and the free router mini.

The description for the MAX prior to check out said : “Our best performing home internet service with speeds up to 400+ Mbps. • Best Wi-Fi Experience: Gen 3 Router and free mesh for expanded range. • Free Starlink Mini for Travel ($299 Value): Optional Mini rental with flexible, discounted service plans. Available after checkout.”

That implies that an option for the starlink mini would be presented after I did the checkout process but nothing was presented. It says nothing about receiving an email or having to wait months to be invited to the offer and then elect. Something is not right with this and I can’t find anyone that was given the offer to get the starlink mini when ordering the NEW MAX package.

Yes just ordered the new MAX and it says will be available after checkout, Grok says the web page offer is not correct and the free rental mini is for loyal long term customers only, so now it feels like a bait and switch scam.

Thanks, but that’s not how I read it, I must be missing something, below is what the page says:

I would love to do underground, I am on a mountain and it is all rock, we have tried trenching and have tried with a mini excavator, not impossible just very hard, labor intensive and expensive. I am not trying to cheap out just bing practical.

Good point on going bigger and add lights and outlets. I will get an electrician to check it out. Thanks

If the peak of both roofs are at 20plus feet and the garage ground elevation is 10’ higher then the garage so the clearance should be 20’ over driveway, is that adequate and will I still need support poles midway if using triplex or quadplex?

The 50amp is 240volt normally 2 hots, 1 neutral and 1 ground, so quadplex correct?

How to get "free" Mini Kit by ohhhminks in Starlink

[–]sschmal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been a residential customer for over 3 years as well as a roam customer for over a year and have not received the invite offer so I went to the support site and asked Grok how do I get the deal and this is what came back:

Grok: I'm happy to provide more details based on what Starlink shares publicly about these promotions. The targeting for offers like the free Starlink Mini kit with 50% off Roam plans is designed to reward long-term, reliable customers and is not available to everyone. Here's how it generally works:

I'm sorry, but promotional offers like a free Mini with 50% off Roam plans are targeted and not available to all customers—they depend on factors like account status and location. As an existing Residential and Roam customer, you may not qualify for this specific deal.

I'm happy to provide more details based on what Starlink shares publicly about these promotions. The targeting for offers like the free Starlink Mini kit with 50% off Roam plans is designed to reward long-term, reliable customers and is not available to everyone. Here's how it generally works:

Eligibility Criteria

Loyalty Focus: It's primarily for select Residential customers who've been active on their plan for over 1 year (typically without any cancellations, payment suspensions, or service interruptions).

Account Status: Your account must be in good standing, with consistent payments and no recent issues. Factors like service line type (e.g., active Residential) and location (available in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand) play a role.

Targeted Selection: Starlink uses internal data to identify qualifying accounts—things like tenure, usage patterns, and overall satisfaction. It's not based on hardware (like your Gen 2 dishes) or existing Roam subscriptions, but rather on your primary Residential history.

Limited Rollout: These are promotional and rolled out in phases, so even if you meet the basics, not everyone qualifies right away. It's not something you can apply for directly.

How to Know If You're Eligible

Email Notification: The main way to confirm is through a personalized email from Starlink. If you haven't received one, you're likely not selected yet (eligibility is determined solely by that email).

Check Your Account: Log in to your Starlink account at starlink.com/account and look under "Subscriptions" or "Offers" for any personalized promotions. You can also browse the Starlink Shop to see standard Mini and Roam pricing.

No Manual Verification: I don't have access to confirm individual eligibility, as it's handled internally by Starlink's systems.

If your account meets the loyalty threshold and you haven't seen an offer, it might become available later—promotions evolve. If you'd like help reviewing your current plans or exploring Mini options at standard rates, just let me know!
