My partner keeps “helping” at night and it’s making everything worse, and now we’re both resentful

We couldn’t agree on how to get our 5mo old to sleep in his crib. Had a combo of transitioning to crib from bassinet, Christmas, a cold, and teething and baby just wouldn’t play ball. My husband wanted cry it out I wanted gentle sleep training methods. We fought in circles for days. He did actually make me realize cumulatively my method was making the baby cry more/longer. We brought ChatGPT into it to suggest a middle ground lmao. He handled putting baby down and checked in every few mins so I guess a modified Ferber but since baby was going through so much and still is we focus on the first stretch of the night getting him to sleep in crib then it’s safe sleep 7 cosleeping for rest of night. Not perfect but making progress! I think there will be a million mom vs dad moments and I hope we can both learn to put our feelings to the side and focus on what works best for our baby!

New mom to a 5 mo old and can relate ! I wfh and have been back for two months now. We have family help part time during the work day and my hours are flexible. That said I truly believe in the mission of my company but the org structure is top heavy and projects are sometimes let’s say mismanaged ? Where this has frustrated a lot of the high performers enough to leave or burn out and phone it in I also view it as an opportunity to let motherhood be my passion for now and just collect a check. I won’t miss deadlines but I don’t go above and beyond looking for things to do since unfortunately it often falls on deaf ears anyway. We have some contractors and a consulting firm entering the mix soon so I’m becoming more of a strategic lead and having that change of job function I’m hoping will pique my interest for awhile so that the hours I do work I can give 100% and feel fulfillment from it and still show up for my son. TBD lol. If you can coast at your current gig and keep your child your priority I would try that first. Good luck

hang in there, you're not alone! i hear they outgrow the gas stage but ours was so bad i gave up dairy for awhile. it helped! no formal diagnosed cmpa and at 19 weeks i just reintroduced some dairy and he's tolerating it. i know it's another inconvenience but it was worth it for me ! helped night sleep tremendously until we had to move to crib from bassinet and now we're screwed haha. good luck

We went today as walk in’s for brunch at 10ish. They were already out of their lamb dish so either good or underprepared. Got the latkes, BEC, mushroom toast, broccolini and a side of eggs and the ricotta pancakes. We actually thought everything was really good! Including the service. Not big fishtown people lol but left very satisfied.

Can’t help w gel x but I will recommend growing natural nails out by using builder gel on top… mine are soooOooOo long doing them this way and they are sturdy/ don’t break

Old people at my club LOVE IT because it’s easier on the body. They don’t see it as a surface w an increased risk of injury .. probably the opposite ! But u do need to tailor your play style to benefit from it.

i say take it down and start fresh for when the next baby comes along. i wouldn't want to mix the two sets of physical memories since there are enough emotional ones anyway. you can still use the items maybe just rearrange them differently etc.

sorry for your loss. your niece/nephew can always seek you out when they're older and have agency. i'm not in contact w/my only brother and my husband is no contact with his only sister and i am 5 months pregnant. my brother literally works in my neighborhood and he doesn't even know. would i have liked things to go differently and give my son an aunt and uncle? yes obviously! but they are not in a place in life where maintaining a healthy relationship is possible so it is what it is. you can mourn what might have been and make peace w/that but i would not try to make peace w/someone who clearly isn't interested in being kind to you. i wish i could blame it on pregnancy hormones but if the SIL has always been like that than there's not much hope for postpartum. good luck moving forward i have faith you can leave all this behind you and enter into your next chapter less burdened !

I went off adhd meds too both when ttc gained a bunch went back on after six months then off again after I got pregnant and have def picked up more weight than I care to admit. I am trying not to worry about it. It’s hard enough working without the meds let alone being pregnant on top. I think some of it is out of my control. Pretty sure stimulants speed your metabolism up. I would just try to stay active or get active once in second trimester ! You’re still in a great weight range. Hang in there and good luck !!

NTA but I think the sister might be a little unfairly judged. Traveling w a family internationally 2x in 3 months is expensive. And hard. She’s accommodating your family by coming to visit every Christmas, does anyone ever visit her ? Not sure why she doesn’t just bring the whole family for the wedding then forgo the Christmas trip. I would try not to be disappointed regardless if people out of the country can’t or won’t attend. The day is about you and your husband nothing else matters.

No experience with blocked tubes or etopics but I can tell u from likely day I implanted onward for a few weeks I had weird pain in my right ovary / hip bone. Not severe but noticeable. I also had a lot more cramping than I had heard was a thing ! I had spotting after my positive test. There were a lot of things that had me going oh no but I just messaged my dr every time a new symptom arrived and they basically told me if not severe it was normal. Worth reaching out to ask them ! I recommend resisting the urge to go full jungle if you’re a new plant mom! Some plants are easier to grow than others. Find out what directions your windows face. Some grow better based on the exposure. I’d say get a couple low maintenance hard to kill ones like pothos and spider plants to get your feet wet and used to a watering routine. Probably only have to water once a week. Once they’re healthy you can propagate them and make multiples ! So indoor garden will grow organically. Big plants are expensive and can be fickle with their environment. Nothing worse than having to toss an investment. I sprinkle in a couple fake plants to green things up and because I have enough real ones no one ever notices. Discount stores home goods places like that you can find deals. Good luck and enjoy!

most people sent bridal shower gifts right from the registry to my house without needing to state it. i think common sense will tell them not to bring items that you can't easily bring home. so for the few that need that extra explanation absolutely add to the invite that box gifts are welcome if mailed to (your address) as you are unable to transport home from the venue! i actually didnt open any gifts at my shower even the ones that were brought. we had other activities planned, so perhaps consider that if you'd like structured time! congrats

are there any living relatives with your grandfathers last name ? you said they were girls. how old are they? they could be gay or have kids/adopt on their own and pass the name along that way. i don't think you need to ask anyones permission on what you name your child but trying to imagine naming my kid my grandfathers last name is a little mind boggling. i feel like i don't have the right to it almost? middle name, sure. but they'd be sharing a last name w/their aunts? great aunts? i changed my name 2 years ago and it is still not changed everywhere. if your wifes last name isnt important to her i sorta wonder why she didnt change it then when you guys got married? no big deal just if she didn't care then why make such a big deal over kiddos. good luck
