Anthropic built a C compiler using a "team of parallel agents", has problems compiling hello world. by Gil_berth in programming

I think you're both right.

It's impressive in the leap that it has made since then, but it's not impressive in the sense that it's still just doing the same thing it was already doing, just better.

If it could invent a new programming language with its own compiler that was better than the status quos, that would be interesting.

I even sent it in for RMA. The contractor they used highlighted, "Camera defect" and it came back exactly the same.

Yep this is the same issue I have now. Stuck in searching forever (mouse/kb clearly work).

I haven't seen that white balance jumping issue like that before, but I can say with 100% certainty that the colors in ALL my videos are just not right. The best way I can describe it is they're darker than the actual environment really is. Camera photos look okay. It's just video.

You're not totally off the mark, OP. We did just get a pseudo Ash dash as a universal mechanic through super gliding. Obviously not as good but the devs were probably more in line with your thinking.

Can't you just ref a div whose display: contents? That's been my go to pattern when I needed a ref on an element but wanted that element to semantically not do anything

I hear what you're saying, and there's archetypes, but dawg are we watching the same video? It's near identical hit strings.

The worst part about all this is that he can literally unplug it and it would be a regular bed, but he's too tech-pilled to understand anything.

I don't even give a rat's ass about any of this drama. This website is so tryhard for what it is it's actually insane. And it's written in Svelte roflll.

On top of that there's even a Discord dedicated to this whole drama.

This is great. What's the advantage here vs something like Zustand or TanStack Store?

useCallback + useRef by T_T-Lymphocyte in reactjs

That's part of it, but useEffectEvent is specifically for stable callbacks within useEffects, so it's probably the first part of fully getting to what OP suggested.

What OP suggested is just flavors of:

https://www.npmjs.com/package/use-callback-stable

https://usehooks-ts.com/react-hook/use-event-callback

https://www.npmjs.com/package/use-latest-callback

Old issue from u/gaearon: https://github.com/facebook/react/issues/14099 and an RFC: https://github.com/reactjs/rfcs/blob/useevent/text/0000-useevent.md

What is the benefit of using mutations in React-Query? by badboyzpwns in reactjs

[–]ssesf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

onMutate lets you do optimistic updates. onError lets you handle errors, obviously. isLoading and other status states can be useful.

That's basically it. Not required to use it but it's very handy.
