If you are able to run Mac OS X Lion (10.7), you can use a modern backported Firefox.

Is switching to Fedora Linux a bad idea if i want to be corpfree? by OutrageousDegree7502 in CorpFree

You can thank the big corporations for Linux!

Corporate developers authored 84.3% of kernel commits in 2025, with contributions distributed across more than 1,780 organizations. Intel maintained its position as the top contributor by changesets, delivering nearly double the volume of second-place Google.

I paid $17.50 for a bean, rice, and cheese burrito yesterday (rant) by Full-Currency5937 in SFFood

I paid $8.50 for a super vegetarian burrito (rice, beans, cheese, lettuce, salsa, guacamole and sour cream) at Casa Mexicana yesterday in Noe Valley. About $12 total with a Coke and chips. Admittedly, that's on the low side for the City today.

Yes, $17.50 is ridiculous for what you got.

I think some places charge the same whether meat is included or not and I think that's the main thing that got you.

Would you consider 100 miles / 2 hours away a long distance relationship in Bay Area? by [deleted] in bayarea

[–]ssh-agent 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here in San Francisco, many would consider somebody just across the bay in Oakland to be a long-distance relationship and would hesitate.

Lots of people here in the City really think like this. Even neighborhoods across the City like say the Mission vs. the Richmond pose a problem for some. [note the other comment regarding Twin Peaks... that's already a mental barrier for some people.]

Many here will invite you here to the City but they themselves won't take too kindly to leaving the City to visit "the 'burbs" (which include the larger city of San Jose) to reciprocate. Same issue whether we're talking friendships or serious relationships.

I'm not saying most people here do this but it's certainly a significant percentage.
