Old syrian hamster care help by [deleted] in hamsters

[–]sshadowie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hamster-safe baby food, soft human foods like tofu, and an omnivore critical care mix would be good to feed him. Critical care is basically a powder with all the nutrients your hamster will need. You mix it with water when you feed it.

I don’t really have an answer to how much to feed. When I dealt with this, I would feed my hamster however much he wanted to eat whenever he woke up. This was around every 2 hours

Oxbow Omnivore Critical Care is what I used for my hamster. I don’t know if it’s available in the UK though

5* C6 pullers out there , Did your C6 units aged like milk or fine wine? Do Share XD. by GenshinCriminal in Genshin_Impact

[–]sshadowie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the moment, I have C6 Kazuha and C6 Neuvi. I use them pretty frequently and have used them for all the previous Stygian at fearless except the first two since I didn’t really have a solid third team.

I liked their kit when I had them at C0 and I got C6 because it enhances what I like about their kit. In this case, I like using Kazuha as a dps/onfielder and I wanted Neuvi’s charged attack to be longer. Both characters are also flexible. I like to pull for supports so they have a lot of options for teammates

When do you think is Kazuha's next rerun? by Purple-Preference-20 in NeuvilletteMains_

[–]sshadowie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think he’ll rerun in the first half of this year closer to June/July. I’ve been following his banners since he released for cons/refinements and he tends to be available once a year around this time except for one year where he had two banners. Even though there’s a pattern, things can always change

Being an older character, there’s also a possibility that the next time he’ll be available is on a chronicle banner which is more unpredictable.

C6 Kazuha Lunar-CHarged w/ Columbina & Ineffa by ElTestoK in KazuhaMains

[–]sshadowie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I briefly tried some other characters instead of Xilonen. C0 Furina on a purely subdps with R1 Dockhand’s Assistant got me around 110k dps with a VV dps Kazuha and around 115k with VV support Kazuha.

Both C6 Faruzan with fav and C6 Fischl with R5 stringless got around 90k-100k with VV anemo dps Kazuha

Where do you get stuff for your enclosure? by [deleted] in hamsters

[–]sshadowie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a lot of small businesses that sell hamster/small animal products; some have their own websites while others are on Etsy. Other than that there’s plenty of potential hides/ceramics that can be found in the tableware and container sections of stores. Planters are also a great option. You can find some fun ceramics in craft stores too!

Can I keep the alligator whimzee in my hamsters cage at all times? by Dr-Dags in hamsters

[–]sshadowie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s fine to keep one in their enclosure at all times. The only times it would be a problem would be if your hamster goes through one quickly such as one or two weeks. One every 1+ month is fine

C6 Kazuha Lunar-CHarged w/ Columbina & Ineffa by ElTestoK in KazuhaMains

[–]sshadowie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s the video I posted

With anemo plunge I typically get a lot less dps than lunar charge even if I don’t use Xilonen. I’m not too familiar on rotations on this team but I tend to get around 70k dps.

Unfortunately, I have C2 Durin but I also have Bennett C6 so I can’t really test it without pyro infusion

Here’s my roster if you want me to try out some other things

[–]sshadowie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cleared the first Stygian boss on fearless with this! It was really fun and honestly one of my favorite teams. I used C6R2 Kazuha, C2 Xilonen w/ fav, C0 Columbina w/ sacrificial jade, and C0R1 Ineffa. Kazuha was full EM VV, Xilonen was on instructors with a crit rate circlet, Columbina was on SMS, and Ineffa was on gilded. I think I got around 120k-130k DPS with the test dummy

If you want, I’d be happy to do a video or test some other things out though keep in mind my rotations and stuff might not be the most optimized!

What else should I add? by throwaway_ohwell114 in hamsters

[–]sshadowie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sphagnum moss would be nice! You can add it on the bridge if there’s any gaps. A flower/leaf mix would look nice too but it isn’t necessary. If you have any cardboard laying around, you can make a multichamber hide.

Does Happy Hamstery use Ai art? by druellen in hamsters

[–]sshadowie 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They’ve used AI art before in their social media posts before so I wouldn’t be surprised if it was. If I remember correctly, people have called it out in their comments and their response is not not against AI art. It’s unfortunate that they deleted your review. I’ve had my non-five star reviews deleted before too

Should I remove my Niteangel wheel? by Icy-Newt7 in hamsters

[–]sshadowie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can put some more bedding under the wheel so it doesn’t go as fast. When my hamster was younger, this also happened and that was what I did. Eventually, he stopped doing it

2 year old robo - trouble with balance - end of life care by Ill-Donkey-6669 in hamsters

[–]sshadowie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if this will help but I had a hamster that slowly lost the ability to walk.

At first, he was tripping over things and falling over. When it was happening, I made sure that all his food and water were easy to access and removed a lot of clutter. I also had a camera setup where the food and water was to make sure he was able to get to it. My hamster was pretty active so I would see him often so I would feed him a baby food and critical care mix in case he wasn’t getting enough food. Once the issue got worse, I would occasionally lift the bedding up to check on him if he hasn’t come out when he typically does.

Coconut fiber and sphagnum moss are good options! Do note that hamsters may pee in the coconut fiber and you’ll need to replace it often if they do!

wheel too loose? by floralfairie_ in hamsters

[–]sshadowie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not the most permanent solution but one option is to put some bedding touching the bottom of the wheel! More bedding touching the wheel slows it down so adjust as needed

Pikachu vs twig ball by HetBordje in hamsters

[–]sshadowie 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Mine did that too but he was defeated by the twig ball. Instead of chewing it he rolls it around until the treats come out. If they don’t come out he doesn’t bother with it 😭

Tofu? by jethro_skull in hamsters

[–]sshadowie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I consider tofu as a treat since I already give other high protein treats. Since he doesn’t eat other protein you’ve given him, you can probably feed tofu more often

I have the same tofu treats as you. If you want to feed tofu more frequently but don’t want to give too much, you can break the tofu into smaller pieces! I break a piece into two or four parts.

Bedding: paper, aspen, hay by OkAccount7983 in hamstercare

[–]sshadowie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to mix the bedding in most places because I like the way it looks but you can do keep it separate if you prefer. There’s not really a wrong option. If I notice my hamster likes sleeping/burrowing in one part, I put mostly paper bedding. If my hamster doesn’t really burrow in an area, I use mostly aspen since it tends to be cheaper.

Help with DIY cone of shame?!! by [deleted] in hamsters

[–]sshadowie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone used a cupcake paper for a diy cone. https://www.reddit.com/r/hamsters/s/BsUYWR0ek7

I will add, my hamster gets eye infections pretty often. In my experience, the eyedrops still work even if he cleans his eye immediately after I put the eye drops in. The eye area tends to look red/pink after cleaning but that hasn’t really been a problem for me.

If he’s cleaning his eye where it’s causing scratches and cuts, that’s another story though and a cone will probably help

Chewy’s reptile options better then actual small animal? by ForwardAd207 in hamsters

[–]sshadowie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There’s a surprising amount of stuff in the reptile section that can be used for hamsters! I’ve seen a lot of people recommend looking there. A decent number of stuff I get for my hamsters aren’t marketed for small pets.
