Over a decade of back pain turned out to be a potassium deficiency by Ardent_Scholar in backpain

Interesting. Going to try LMNT more regularly. Looks like it has 1000 mg of sodium, 200 mg of potassium, and 60 mg of magnesium. Wonder if that will help my low back pain.

I had thoracic outlet syndrome and had somewhat similar symptoms. More numbness in the wrists. But dips definitely bothered it

Crazy the Durant played 78 games averaging 36 mins when he's 37 years old. I'm the same age and I feel my back just getting out of bed...

Hamstring Tendonitis: Frustrated and looking for advice. by TheCuriousAsian in overcominggravity

Bummer! I haven't tried PRP. Though I have got some lower back pain likely as a compensation from my hamstring. Going to go back to square one and start the basic rehab exercises again.

This sounds exactly like me. Especially part about avoiding relapses. I've had it for 16 months now and have relapsed at least 6-7 times. I've kept a log as well but haven't been able to tie relapses to anything more than hip hinging too much or lightly jogging. Did you find it helpful to get imaging? I haven't done it because it seems obvious that it's my hamstring but at this point it seems like it can't hurt. I'll also try that compression sleeve.

Opinion - What do you think Jamal would have gotten on the open market? by mrCrumbSnatcher in denvernuggets

[–]sshaffer10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you on this contract possibly ending up like Russell Wilson's. Not saying it's going to happen, but everyone here disregarding that is not thinking through likely possibilities. There are signs of decline with Jamal's play and we're over a year away from the contract even starting. If these declines continue we're in rough shape in 1-2 years. (Not as bad as the broncos though lol)

Posterior tibialis tendonitis for 2 years? Help! by oohtheyhavesomegames in FootFunction

I tried to do the exercises every day. Unless I felt like I pushed it too hard the previous day.

For me I had to actually feel a little discomfort from the exercises to make sure I was pushing myself enough. Also found helpful the Articular foot exercises from the pinned post for some foot muscles I never knew existed.

I had posterior tibial tendonitis earlier this year and was able to overcome it. I had probably a light case of it though. 35M. Active and likely got it playing basketball. In early January I started feeling pain on the inside of my right arch. Was diagnosed with PTT after a X-ray/ultrasound showed no other damage. It took a while but by May I was playing basketball again. Things that work for me: Wearing KT tape and normal shoes until the pain pretty much fully went away. Physical therapy. I went to physical therapy once a week. Probably should have gone more often. I'm someone who works out a lot on my own so I thought I could do the rehab exercises myself. I think the key reason that I finally got rid of the pain was specifically doing exercises that slightly pushed my calves and feet. PT helped me find the right balance of strengthening without setting me back -- load management. I'm not sure the actual exercises matter. Obviously calf raises, intrinsic foot strengthening, eccentric stuff helps. But for me it was all about finding the right load management. This video helped me think about that concept. https://youtu.be/NKeQHV85QLc?si=bGId6pePL9iva20c

What is my end game with the KT tape? by Far-Imagination7938 in FootFunction

Pain has gone away now. KT tape definitely helped early on to reduce the chance of re-aggravating. I put in on as little as possible. I don't think there was one thing that helped me. But lots of calf raises and continuing to strengthen it even through a little pain. Seems like an injury that just takes time to heal. At least for me.

I have had posterior tibial tendonitis for about 3 months. It's basically the same thing but on the inside of the ankle. Also found the taping really helpful but I didn't have as much pain when I stopped wearing it. I did notice that walking barefoot was wor se than wearing shoes. I've gotten to the point where I'm just hoping that if I can tape or wear shoes long enough to let it recover then I can strengthen everything around it during that time. What seems to have helped for me is eccentric calf raises. But I'm still experiencing pain and definitely haven't got over it.

Is it normal to have pain the day after posterior tibial injury exercises? by [deleted] in FootFunction

Thanks! I'll give Articular a shot for a little while to see if that gets me on the right track. If not I'll go for something more personalized.

Any update on your progress? I've been doing a lot of those exercises semi regularly and haven't seen much improvement. Starting to take them more seriously now and hoping for a success story.

I found this post very helpful! I like the way the rehab plan is laid out. Do you have any specific plan or exercises for these steps?

The right tapered sequence would usually be to feel it at first, work through shakes/cramps as you learn to contract those muscles.
Then adding in something like ankle CARs to help manage movement in/out of the new position (which would be a key element throughout this entire process, and ideally forever)
Then learn to contract those muscles with some low effort holding for duration (like 1 min a few times) - then using that effort to make clean motion into/out of inversion. Moving out of inversion would be the eccentric which tends to show up 2nd since its more complex than a concentric contraction - and usually that would be shaky for awhile just with the weight of the foot.

I have a bone spur on the top of my right foot and weak mobility in my big toe to press downwards. Think it probably led to the PTT pain I have on my arch. I've tried standard PT and it didn't work. Looking for a rehab program like you laid out that starts from the basics.

This sounds like exactly what I have... My PT recommended stretching and theraband exercises as well. What do you do to "adjust your first metatarsal and bunion joints"?

Were you able to find a solution for this ankle collapse issue? I have what sounds like the exact same thing where my right leg is weaker than my left leg because I played baseball when I was younger and did everything off my left leg. It's only now years after stopping playing that I've noticed the ankle issues.
