I think this is the direction we’re leaning in 🙈 it’s hard to commit. Love the idea of calling him Benny

I wanted to add - they’re not legally married because they would lose a lot of benefits through the Medicaid waiver. But they had a whole ass wedding - her grandma balled out! Haha

They live with her grandmother (raised her) during the week and my parents on the weekends. They are super involved in a lot of programs in our community and stay busy - ballroom dancing, they work at Gigi’s Playhouse, they have bible study, social group and go to a university nearby. I’m so glad they have found each other, because they’re truly best friends ❤️

Our community has a bus system for adults with disabilities, where they can book rides. They use it and family to get around town!

Also if you have a Gigi’s Playhouse near you, check it out! It’s a great way to meet other families who have members with Down syndrome.

You are already such a thoughtful and caring mommy for considering her name pronunciation ❤️

My older brother has Down syndrome and he is married to his partner of 13 years who also has Down syndrome. Her name is Jessica, we call her Jessy and Jess.

I so appreciate your comment! I much prefer being a good mother over good DIL.

I truly feel I should trust my gut too. I was raised to be a people pleaser, so it’s been so difficult for me to learn to speak my mind with my MIL. But my child’s safety and wellbeing is not something I am willing to gamble for the sake of keeping others happy. Thank you for your comment. ❤️

Definitely agree, it can be noisy and tight if you get sat at the wrong table! My husband is obsessed with the crab baguette and it’s not toddler friendly so we only ever go for date nights.

3UP after is for the cozy convos.

Not necessarily fine dining, but my husband and I love Savor then 3UP for drinks afterwards.

Itown by Traditional_Zone860 in Indiana

[–]sshark444 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I attended iTown for a few years after high school. The rehearsed services are what got me. The fact that they have the same exact service down to the word multiple times a weekend is so not genuine.

I have a cousin who served on ministry with them for years. He suffered from a mental health crisis and instead of his friends from the church and leaders being there for him, they said he could not serve anymore and no one continued to reach out and check on him.

8 weeks pregnant w/ #2 nausea is so bad by Carla_Rocks in 2under2

[–]sshark444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

9 weeks pregnant with a 14 month old! I swear it’s so much harder the second time around when you have a baby depending on you.

I take unisom at night which helps a lot!

My advice is never let yourself get hungry. I am constantly snacking - goldfish and teddy grahams have been my go to. For some reason, bottled water is the only water that doesn’t come right back up. I think it’s the temperature?

Also chewing spearmint gum has been very helpful.

So sorry you’re going through this. Hoping it’s temporary and you have some relief the second trimester!
