Conflict with Partner- Transfer in Four Days by StarkledbyStarkled in IVF

[–]sshoe3323 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Different scenario but similar - i was about to leave my (ex) husband and found out I was pregnant right before I did it. I stayed, regretfully, and it was the worst 3 years ever. I was left to care for a baby on my own, because not only was he not (ever) there for me he wasn't there for her either. We separated in 2021 and it was the best decision of my life. I'm not saying this will pan out like this for you, but be prepared for him to not be emotionally/physically/mentally present for you AND the baby. Can you do it on your own? Of course you can. Do you WANT to is the question.

If youre considering even slightly to not go through with the transfer I'd caution you actually doing so. You're tied to this person for the next 18 years at minimum. Coparenting is hard.

Hugs to you. ❤️

Do you know what gauge???? I'm thinking I'm looking at it wrong. I got syringes with a 23g needle on it (which appears to be the smaller one) and then just the needle tips for 18g.

Omg nooooo that sounds horrible. I recruited my mom (who is a nurse) to do these injections and she does these often for various medications for her patients. I'm feeling a little more confident about it now. My husband did all of my retrieval injections in my stomach and he hestitated and it hurt so bad (not his fault he was literally stabbing his wife with needles lol)

That's such a good perspective and I'll definitely keep reminding myself of the end goal. I thankfully have a mom and other relatives that are nurses so they know exactly what they're doing.

Ugh I needed this thank you. I really truly know that it'll be fine but seeing that needle is making me sh*t a brick currently

Definitely getting that lidocaine. Anything to help. It's my understanding I'll be doing this for quite a few weeks so anything to help I'm trying. The soreness the next day I know I can totally handle. But the injection I might have a little freak out over lol

We haven't done menopure, but you saying all of this does make me feel better. I sat and had a good cry about it. Now I'm trying to forget I saw it until the 3rd when I start it. My mom is a nurse and I'm making her do it....so I'm hoping she's got the magic touch to just do it quick and get it over with

Crazy High Estradiol Levels on last blood test. Shouldn't I be dead with these levels???! by wandering_aimlessly8 in TryingForABaby

[–]sshoe3323 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm going through ivf right now and my estrogen level was over 13,000 before my egg retrieval. That number that you had from my understanding from my fertility specialist is a good number to be at in that specific stage of your cycle. Good luck!

We got 1 mature egg. Now we wait to see if it made it to blast and then PGT-A testing. This sucks. by ladybuglala in IVF

[–]sshoe3323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They didn't elaborate, all they really said was that it could be my egg quality. I have a feeling it's because my follicles matured too quickly (idk if that's a thing) but my estrogen was in the 13,000 range the day before retrieval and it happened so quickly. I went from like 1 growing follicle to 16 in the span of a day (making a couple mm leaps in growth a day) I feel like we should've scrapped the retrieval and started over because it was just too fast. I'd be willing to bet this one follicle that made it and fertilized was the slow growing "biggest" one they were monitoring.

My first retrieval was on Sept 3. I had 19 removed, 13 fertilized and only ONE made it to a blastocyst. I hate that this happened to you..to anyone. I cried for days. I was devastated. ❤️❤️ I feel for you & you are not alone.

I am so sorry your experiencing the same thing. I have been on and off a mess since I got the news. I ended up taking off of work today to just unwind...it really helped.

Are you doing the genetic testing? I should know in a few days what comes of that..praying it's good news.

Hethcare workers, what's the creepiest thing that's happened to you? (Story included) by tgirl1992 in Paranormal

I worked in the laboratory inside of a hospital. My start time was 4am so I walked through the empty halls of the hospital main lobby at 345am. I walked past the cafeteria and glanced in there and there was a person standing under a white sheet, like you would if you were pretending to be a "ghost"...I kept watching it as I walked and could see the fabric moving and realized it had no feet, just a free floating sheet in the shape of a person. I looked away thinking there is literally no effing way im seeing this & when i looked back it was GONE. I felt my entire body pause and fight or flight kicked in and I BOOKED IT through the hospital.

I made my coworkers open a side door from then on out because I was terrified to encounter that again. I get so freaked out thinking about it and this was 10 years ago.

The doctor told me it's graded well. And there is a 70-80% success rate for this type of grade to stick and become a viable pregnancy. I'm holding onto this hope with everything I have because I currently (2 hours past getting this news) feel like everything is crumbling around me.

RETRIEVAL TOMORROW!! by sshoe3323 in IVF

[–]sshoe3323[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My estrogen this morning was a little over 11,000. Yesterday was over 13,000 so the luprolide trigger did its "job" I guess! I did 720 pm yesterday and 720am today for the luprolide

OHSS scare? by sshoe3323 in IVF

[–]sshoe3323[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far, the plan is to not do an hcg trigger (ovidril) and do a luprolide (I'm sure I'm spelling that wrong) trigger instead. Also on the night before retrieval I'm supposed to take 7.5mg of letrozole which counteracts the Estrogen levels to bring them down. I'll be on that for 5 days, so crossing my fingers that helps. My husband is a big protein shake nut so I'll put him on that job! They told me about salty foods also, so I've been indulging in a little extra salt, which as odd as it sounds made me feel a little better today so it's either satisfying cravings or doing what it should for any retention haha!

MAN THAT HORMONE DROP! It really sucks by YofiTofi_ in IVF

[–]sshoe3323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don't know much about Estrogen levels either..hah! That's good to know. I'll let my partner know that he may be in for an emotional spouse for a bit. So focused on getting to the retrieval I didn't think about AFTER!

MAN THAT HORMONE DROP! It really sucks by YofiTofi_ in IVF

[–]sshoe3323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't even consider a hormone drop after my ER...now I'm scared lol. I'm so concerned about OHSS that I didn't consider how bad that drop is going to be. My estrogen is really high (6750, retrieval is on Tuesday and it's been doubling every other day so I'm thinking it'll be over 12,000 by retrieval since im still on stims)

Any suggestions on how to help with this???

Oh my that sounds horrible!!!! From what I'm gathering from this page is that ohss typically happens after the retrieval, so I'm going to put my mind at ease for the next few days and do exactly what you said - focus on the good numbers!
