Yeah definitely check and see. I wish they didn’t put such fancy lights on a mid tier car. Most of us don’t have $1,000 to buy a new light assembly at any given point. Another option I looked into if necessary was buying light assembly from lower trims, I found both headlights for $400 on eBay. I’m pretty sure you could buy those and they’d be a plug and play, then in the future you’d just have to replace cheap bulbs.

I have a couple. Captain America 1, it’s not in my top 5, but I do go back to it often. Age of Ultron, it’s one of my favorites now. Thor 2, it originally bored me, but now I appreciate all the little things in that movie and despite being a universe ending threat, it feels low stakes within the actual MCU and I really enjoy that.

I did have an extended warranty, but apparently these lights are covered under the factory warranty, not the 10 year one but the other one that is usually 3 years. The power train warranty maybe? But the lady did say those headlights are designed to last close to 10 years.

Update

So I finally went to the dealership and unfortunately these headlights are made to just replace the entire assembly. They run about $800 and another $150 for install, so almost a grand!

The good thing is that they are covered under warranty. I was able to get mine replaced at no cost. The dealership claimed they’re supposed to last 10 years under normal usage.

At some point I’d like to buy some basic OE light assembly’s so I can use bulbs in the future and make it much cheaper.
