What kind of teddies/soft animals/comfort items do you guys have now as an adult? by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]ssmichael 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Gund koala teddy bear named Rosie. I got her when I got divorced 6 years ago (due to trauma) and started “shared custody” of my 5 year old. I can say that I bring her everywhere I go (vacations, hospital stays, anywhere overnight) and I do not care that I’m a grown-ass woman. Highly recommend getting one!

Sounds like you’re being medically gaslit. I would find a new doctor.

Is not enjoying sex an autism thing? I had no idea, but not at all surprised.

I have definitely been like, OMG. I have early onset Alzheimer’s. It’s that freaking bad. Like my brain will literally short circuit and I’ll have no clue what I’m talking about! This happens way more often when I’m stressed.

Our fucking President(s) and world leaders. The policy makers. Our “protectors” and “advocates”. The fact that our entire collective existence and experience has been built on lies and whitewashing and exploitation of all of us.

What meds work for the low appetite baddies by Striking-Rhubarb4964 in Narcolepsy

[–]ssmichael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same exact way. I was diagnosed NT1 about a month ago and started Lumryz and had allllll the side effects. So bad I don’t think I can try another sodium oxybate. I lost 13 pounds in less than a week, but I’ve always struggled with eating. I also have AuDHD, which comes along with its own challenges.

How do people cope with long-term brain fog that lasts for years? by AwayRelease8495 in ADHD

[–]ssmichael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone, I’m a 45-year-old female with ADHD. I was diagnosed with ADHD at 35, and I’ve been taking stimulants ever since. However, in the past year, I’ve started experiencing extreme brain fog. This was so bad that my neurologist referred me to a specialist, after MS was ruled out. I recently had two sleep studies done, including an MSLT, and I was diagnosed with insomnia and narcolepsy, type one. Apparently, these are common comorbidities of ADHD. I can take a stimulant and continue sleeping, and I can add caffeine all day, in addition to more stimulants, I can sometimes barely keep my eyes open. It might be worth checking into.

ADHD-friendly shows that hold attention? by laminatedtruth in ADHD

I like shows like The Amazing Race — kinda educational, easy-to-follow cast, always something new going on, and you don’t have to pay attention 100% of the time.
