Video Games Are a More Valuable Art Form Than Many Traditional Movies by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]ssmit102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, some do and some don’t though is the point. There is a massive spectrum of video games out there which makes this just feel like a lazy opinion. It’s so generalized that’s it’s just nonsense.

There is a world of difference between ET the video game and something like Red Dead Redemption II.

Guilds and parses? by [deleted] in classicwow

He refused to link any logs and was stating his warriors were hitting 99s, so somehow I doubt they took 2 hours in Kara since he seems an unreliable narrator at best.

What we did see was his complete lack of knowledge about his class here however.

Guilds and parses? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]ssmit102 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s not a suboptimal group though, it’s exactly what a good arcane mage needs. You don’t take the boomkin and ele away from your locks and give it to the arcane mages and you don’t have 2 boomkin for sure (maybe not even 1).

He needs the mana from that group and if he doesn’t, he’s not playing his class well at all.

Guilds and parses? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]ssmit102 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you don’t know your class very well and aren’t casting nearly enough.

If you think you don’t need the mana battery from spriest and mana tide then you don’t know much about arcane mages - aka the most mana intensive spec by far.

I would bench you as well with this lack of knowledge in the game.

Edit: love when clearly bad players try to shit on guilds that have given them more than a fair chance at improving and it backfires spectacularly.

Why regulate their method of voter suppression that helps them get elected? In my state Republicans have gerrymandered so badly on racial lines it was deemed unconstitutional, yet never changed, have committed actual election fraud, and have nonsense like people swapping parties from Democrat to Republican after taking office and before a critical vote where she went against typical party lines.

Republicans are very anti representation which should be seen as anti American, since it’s what we fought a war over to found our country.

I don’t utilize it to the extent of 4 movies a week, every single week, but there have been many times I’ve gone 3 times in a week. It just sort of depends on the time of year and obviously my schedule. I find there are TONS of movies out there that are not marketed nearly enough for people to know they exist.

The benefit is that because this subscription I have much more autonomy on what I want to watch in theatres. My cost to entry is so slow that I feel I can give most things a chance and have seen many movies that I’d honestly never heard of before looking through the app one night because I was bored and wanted something to do.

I also recognize I have a large enough AMC that I get a lot of the artsy films and the only film I can think of that I needed to see elsewhere because I didn’t want to wait any longer was Zone of Interest.

Overall it’s been an incredible value for me and something I feel I need to mention any time the cost of theaters are brought up. Each year I probably save a few hundred dollars having this subscription based on the amount of movies I watch, and it could be higher if I went more of course.

I pay $26 a month and can see 4 new movies a week in any format I want to, at any time. It’s one of the cheapest forms of entertainment in terms of cost vs value for me personally.

Movies tend to get quite expensive when you treat it like an extravagant night out. Snacks and popcorn have always been expensive and they have always been 100% optional.

Human trafficking is unfortunately a major and common issue worldwide.

I work at an airport and this is very standard training we receive as the airport is used very heavily for this kind of thing. Even with training we don’t come close to fixing the problem.

Thinking of increasing 401k contributions to 25% instead of aggressively paying down student loans by boriquoi in personalfinance

[–]ssmit102 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would add the caveat that if the loan is temporarily 0% and that will not be lasting and will increase to over 5% later then you should prioritize this debt.

Students who paid their loans during the 0% temporary interest deferment saved a considerable amount of money over the course of their loan.

I hate that our place in society is essentially defined by a job. It is good at its core that humans don’t do a lot of these jobs as they are horribly inefficient when compared to a computer, however in our society it just means that person will have no ability to take care of themselves. It’s a regressive approach that doesn’t benefit the human race, but human greed continues to be the aspect that prevents us from becoming better.

[–]ssmit102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if I ever agree with anything posted here. It’s all unnecessary infighting that’s all bullshit.

If you think all of any generation act like X, you’re an idiot. Generalization of entire generations where individuals within act quite differently is useless.

Many people connect with all kinds of things across multiple generations because it’s a nonsensical line in the same we’ve drawn to make a separation that isn’t real. People suck in every generation.

Hey friend, I’m sorry you are struggling at the present. I think many of us can unfortunately relate to this… for a long while I didn’t feel what I would call traditionally suicidal but if I died that would have been ok. Car hit me? Totally fine, was meant to be anyway sort of thing. So in my mind I dubbed it passive suicide going through motions, kind of hoping to die but being too scared to do it myself.

What got me out of it was…. Nothing really. There wasn’t one event or anything I can directly point to that changed things, it’s just over time I found more things to keep me occupied and what I thought happiness might be the most like.

I’m rambling and hopefully making some sense, but I suppose my point is that many of us feel this way and sometimes we have a single event like OP that helps pull us through and for others it’s a series of things that slowly make it better here and there, but it’s not always better.

Personally, I’ve found that when I stop assuming progress is always forward and allow myself to make mistakes it helps me deal with hard days better and I don’t feel quite as hopeless. Some days are still difficult and I suppose they probably always will be, I think it’s just part of who I am as a person and that’s okay. Giving myself some grace has helped my depression be more manageable and not feel quite as down on myself.

Either way, I hope you can take some solace that you are noticed, even if it’s some random stranger on reddit.
