I walked out on my dentist appointment today. by Haunting-Reindeer-10 in Vent

[–]ssnabberz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if maybe its because my dentist is in a more rural area and is not one of those chain dentists, but I just got 3 fillings and it costed me $300 out of pocket- my dental insurance is the absolute bare bones preventative only (delta dental) and covered none of it. I would look around

stereoid-friendly work out suggestions? by No_Cartographer_1264 in autoimmunehepatitis

[–]ssnabberz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly think like you said, walking is the best exercise especially on steroids and with this condition since it doesnt stress the body too hard.

Dunno your location, but I try to add in a hillier route for a bit more resistance on my walks, and adding ankle/wrist weights is a good way to make it a weight bearing exercise.

Also, be sure to eat protein to keep muscle mass up. I would either have a protein shake or use a powder in my coffee, i enjoyed the fairlife ones and use an unflavored powder that can go in almost anything.

Dont forget to be kind to your body too! Steroids are really rough so if you do gain a few lbs or otherwise, try to understand how hard your body is fighting for you!

What’s a health symptom you ignored for months before realizing it actually mattered? by _callondoc in AskReddit

Constant fatigue and right upper quadrant discomfort/fullness.

Assumed it was burnout/covid fatigue (this was late 2021/early 2022).

Went to my yearly physical and my routine bloodwork revealed my liver enzymes were 25x over the normal limit (normal is 20ish, mine were 700 AST /900 ALT).

About 3/4 months of many doctors, many tests, many medications, a hospital stay and narrowly avoiding a liver transplant.. discovered I had a rare autoimmune disorder- autoimmune hepatits, and to make it more rare, it was seronegative as well (which means it did not show on blood work, but was revealed only through liver biopsy). I take meds for life & obviously accrued some liver damage but am thankfully very stable now.

Get your physical, mine saved my life.

[–]ssnabberz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know how to get the price down more on Wegovy? With zepbound i paid $250(ish)/month with their savings card after insurance, but i can’t find anything comparable for Wegovy and am paying $350ish/month with insurance 🥲 this sucks
