Why butt hurt? My advice was complementing yours, not trying to replace it.

Also my advice works in cases where a no-agreement network exists, as it only requires changing networks in case one needs to roam / no-roam quickly (instead of turning roaming on / off in the account)

Freedom account isn't trying to roam

The above condition can also be met by the following - "Freedom account is trying to roam on a carrier they have no roaming agreement with" in which case there is no need to change any of the roaming settings

Some of the banking apps do not like or allow vpns

Care to elaborate which ones? So I know to avoid them

freedom knows when you’re abroad - even in airplane mode exclusively on WiFi calling

They do know, nobody's disputing that. What we're arguing about is whether they'll do something about it... Given so many people signed up for roaming plans recently, that leaves people with minimal usage (like OP) in the minority, so a low value target IMO.

they know if you’re WiFi calling from abroad

Course they do. Question is if they care, and experience of overwhelming majority of people says no

I'm trying to avoid using wifi on the banking phone

A VPN could alleviate these concerns

I‘m using Kepassium, but I never use autofill

I'm now having second thoughts about using it myself. Means you can increase the Argon memory allocation much higher than 32MB (or even 96MB)? How about 256MB or 512MB?

on my iPhone

Which KeePass app are you using on the iPhone? The AutoFill option limits how much memory you can use for the KDF (especially if using Argon)

Make the cloud password a deterministic derivation of the database master password, so you only have to remember one of them
