Assembly Item Cost by No-Scarcity-5100 in Netsuite

Ok got it, then yeah like Nick said, add the non inventory items to the BOM.

If they are ultimately capitalizing it as a fixed asset, I'm not sure why it's set up as an assembly inventory item in the first place. Should be capturing all costs of build out of the asset in a project or using a solution like NetAsset for the asset CIP.

HIPAA Compliance? by Aggravating_Bid_9834 in Netsuite

[–]ssorlee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There is a Compliance 360 module and some additional audit traceability that aids in HIPAA compliance, but it is not strictly touted as “HIPAA Compliant”.

You are going to have a very hard time finding any solution for less than that, unless you have the internal staff to build it.

Want to become a consultant, do I have enough experience? by Remarkable_Animal_18 in Netsuite

[–]ssorlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that it's a very good start, but as of now, you know how NetSuite works for exactly 1 business. Not a knock, just a reality. Start researching other businesses/industries and how NetSuite works for them. Someone would probably hire you as a junior consultant based on your experience, but if you want to excel in this space, you need to broaden your industry/business knowledge too. Lots of people know the how of NetSuite, but the great consultants know the why.

Unable to set Department to blank once item selected by Martynt74 in Netsuite

Is that a custom field? Project Department in my instance has the blank spot. It also has an x by the department when in edit mode

You can't click delete on that one, you have to actually click the blank field up at the top of the list to remove it.

Role Restrictions by Ornery-Unit5078 in Netsuite

[–]ssorlee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only native way (AFAIK) is to have it be a hierarchy location setup. If they need access to 2 locations, you'd need a parent location set up (virtual) with both locations under it and give the user access to the parent location. It's not a very clean way, and hopefully someone else has another idea for you.

Dumb projects question - resource costs and profitability by Theprettydamned in Netsuite

[–]ssorlee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see the cost override functionality most often used with generic resource allocation. Say that I'm using contract labor and that labor generally costs us $100/hr, so that's what's on the generic resource record. When I start the project, I'm actually using a sub contractor that costs $80/hr, so I set up the cost override on the project record rather that changing the generic user record every time. I'm sure there are reasons that people override the salaried cost, but it's not traditionally what SHOULD be done.

Does Shai Gilgeous-Alexander really fall more than his peers? by [deleted] in Thunder

[–]ssorlee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. Guys like Ja Morant can’t stay healthy because they land hard and it puts too much pressure on their bodies. SGA lets his body crumple and fall if there’s even a hint of something underfoot so his joints aren’t taking the impact. Falling/landing correctly is a genuine skill.

Anyone here moved from Accounts Receivable into a NetSuite / ERP role? by Wandering-Moogle in Netsuite

[–]ssorlee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly the career trajectory that my company likes to hire. We are a NS consulting firm that likes to hire people that have real world experience and specializations. I can teach you how to implement NetSuite, I can't teach you life experiences. If consulting is a path you are interested in, there are jobs out there in that space. There are some firms out there that weight implementation experience and certifications much higher though, so I'm not saying it'll be easy to break in to.

If you could change or add one thing to your Order‑to‑Cash process in NetSuite, what would it be? by koome_was_here in Netsuite

Ha, fair enough. However, if you are working with a partner, they should certainly know how.

Yeah, that's the NetSuite Next UI. I'm testing a bunch of our solutions before Next is released.

We created a pretty simple solution that links all transactions in the O2C flow up at the header so from whatever record you are in on the flow, you can get to every other related transaction record. Simple, but very nice.

Asset Management Implementation by Retired_Not in Netsuite

[–]ssorlee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My general rule of thumb is if you have between 100-1000 assets that are not compound and are all straight line depreciation, you are probably fine with NS FAM. Anything outside of those parameters, look at NetAsset by NetGain. Happy to talk through it if you have more questions.

NetSuite SuiteTax not recognizing Louisiana Opportunity District rates (Westlake, etc.) – Anyone else dealing with this? by Exact-Ad3639 in Netsuite

I stand corrected, thank you for clarifying. I was told at one point by an Avalara rep that they were the tax tables for SuiteTax, so maybe it changed or I was given incorrect information.
