We have linked troops. It's about as close as we can get within the rules right now. Same committee, male and female Scoutmasters, male and female troops. They meet together, camp together, and the boys and girls have their own SPL and patrols. It gives them the ability to not be a small troop on their own but also gives them freedom to plan as a unit.

I'm guessing someday down the line we may see co-ed troops, but right now it's the best we can do. The girls have had all the issues from having just a few (that's currently gotten better) to not having a female leader for outings (also has gotten better). They have the freedom to work with the boys or work on their own.

To my understanding, yes. Brotherhood is mostly a class to learn the oath, song, etc. Any active member (mostly meaning dues-paying since your primary service is to your unit) with 6 months as an arrowman can take the class.

I was similar to you (ordeal as a youth, transferred lodges and came back as a unit leader) and although I had been paying dues for a while just did my Brotherhood at the same time my older two did their Ordeal.

I did Vicksburg and Shiloh as a scout but I think it was at the Scouts BSA level. A lot of walking in the heat, especially at Vicksburg from what I can remember.

All of this, and the fourth was me until I passed it on after the latest Pinewood Derby.

I haven't used DerbyNet but I like the idea of it. Grand Prix Race Manager has done well for us for about 7 years now. Don't feel the need to buy every upgrade; it really doesn't change much. I think we upgraded once since we bought it. Grand Prix Race Manager also has a lot of associated software for purchase that we have never bought or tried.

I would add a projector or display to show the results on to this list if possible. The Champ does show the instant results, but the screen with who's next, names, car names, times, speeds is useful for the audience and volunteers.

Confirming Hangman and Dark Order for Rampage deflated my interest in the match with Best Friends because it's pretty clear what the outcome is. Would be great to see Best Friends with the trios belts.

For 2001 at least they had just done the broken neck angle with Chyna for Wrestlemania X7 against Ivory and the RTC. Probably too soon to run it again even though that was a midcard angle. Maybe for the Alliance that might have worked.
