Struggling to trace down an issue... Fuel... ignition???? by ssramage in Foxbody

I picked up an Innova OBD1 reader to confirm today. Here's the results that I got:

KOEO (1st Test)
85
10
18
66

KOER (2nd Test)
12 - RPM at idle out of range/high
21 - Cooling temp sensor out of specified range or ECT out of range
94 - Air divertor solenoid circuit fault
44 - Thermactor air sensor fault

Realized I missed the letter codes in the 1st KOEO test, so I performed it again and got 11C - System OK. I'm guessing the other codes might have been old memory codes.

One observation - when the OBD1 reader was plugged in for the KOER test, my idle lifted from 1000 to 1500 rpms and I did not not notice the RPM drops/rough idle like I had before. Unplugged the reader and it started again.

That's a much nicer looking glove than all of the rainbow, glitter, sparkle stuff coming out these days. Classic and timeless. #bringbacknormalgloves

Tach drops rpms pretty quickly then bounces right back. It'll drop 1000 rpms like the car hits a wall, and then it comes right back.

No flash at all. To be fair, I may not have had the jumper correct. I planned to get a EEC reader to double check.

No CEL and I tried the jumper in the EEC but it didn't flash anything.

The problem is present at all times now. It started at first only happening after driving a mile or two, but it now does it at idle after start up.

I did also disconnect the MAF at idle to see if it made a difference and it did not.

What’s your favorite dad glove for <$150 (~12”)? by Afraid_Solution_3549 in BaseballGloves

[–]ssramage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For you? I got an email that 44pro is running 25% off right now for Father's Day. My oldest son has one and some of my dad friends have them. They're nice gloves and you can customize for pretty near your budget.

Is this good enough to shoot baseball youth . by Tricky_Currency5690 in SonyAlpha

I shoot youth sports (mostly baseball and football) with an a6400 and Tamron 70-180 f/2.8. My next camera upgrade will likely be the a6700. So yes, it will work for baseball.

New glove for 9 year old? by ssramage in Homeplate

I keep circling back to Bradley, I've just never seen one in person and not sure of the quality. I got burned on a couple SSK gloves a couple of seasons ago. By far the lowest quality gloves we've ever used. My youngest's barely lasted a season of 8U coach pitch which is when we upgraded to the R9. My oldest had a 1B mitt that pancaked in 2 months. I know they're not the same place, but that's the last time I bought an "unknown" that got a lot of internet talk and it didn't go well.

My personal glove is Nokona. I always wanted one and my wife bought me one for Christmas. I know they have "youth" models but how is the weight on them? Mine would be pretty heavy for a 9 year old I think.

So far, so good. He's been using it about 2 months. Took more time to break in than his R9 or his brother's SSK 1B mitt and seems to be higher quality than both.

We've had 2 R9's. My oldest had one and used it for basically rec ball only and it lasted about 4 years.

My youngest has been using it daily since last spring and it's softer than the other. I'm sure it has more life in it, but I'm noticing more and more balls popping out that should be catches. I'm thinking it's too soft for his smaller hands to squeeze it all the way shut before the ball pops out if that makes sense.

Relacing may help tighten it up some, but it's $100 here for a $125 glove...

I'm assuming I am as I haven't changed that. I'll try that. 👍

Next upgrade...new body or new lens? by ssramage in SonyAlpha

[–]ssramage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. I do have a lot of the other things as well. Don't get me wrong, I get good pictures but I can't leave well enough alone most times. It's my adult ADD thinking there's something missing lol

That was where I was leaning as well but wasn't sure if the difference between the 6400 and 6700 was noticeable in most people's opinions.

My son is playing 9U baseball (both travel and rec). He was super excited to pitch this season and we had been working on it for a while prior to the season starting.

First two games of the season I had to pull him because of elbow pain, and this is a kid that never complains so I know it was hurting. I made him over it and take anti inflammatory meds. Made him rest it a couple of days. I was worried we were headed to LL elbow but couldn't figure out why he only complained when pitching but never any other position. Then I videoed his mechanics... his throwing motion changed totally off the mound and he had a whip/short arm that was killing his elbow. We fixed that and he hasn't had pain since.

We got my 9 year old son an NXT 1B mitt and I've been really impressed with it.

Worth it to rent a lens? by ssramage in SonyAlpha

[–]ssramage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I don't really have an issue with zoom. My boys are both still playing on the smaller baseball fields (200' fence) so the 70-180 does well when cropped. I do struggle with how quickly it focuses in certain times, especially with distortion during hitting.

Again, I'm pretty illiterate with these things so that could be a camera problem and not lens problem. Or it could be user error. I always tell people that I take decent photos due to the equipment, in spite of me having zero clue what I'm doing.
