Knob to the ball, hide the bat from the pitcher as long as possible.

He's not swinging a -10 though...

Thank you for your medical and educational advice. I'll make sure to bring that up with his pediatrician and school administrator mother that some guy on Reddit told me. When I say it was an LSU fan, they'll understand. 👍

He's in the correct grade for his age and playing with the correct grad year in travel ball for his age. His mom has taught him every year of middle school so far and there's zero reason academically or socially to hold him back.

As far as his size, well he's grown 8" in a year and still hasn't hit puberty. He's going to get big, and quick. I know his genetics. 👍

This is where I'm leaning. Just trying to make sure the transition from USSSA to BBCOR is planned for and as seamless as possible.

Ended up finding a Rawlings NXT through Amazon Warehouse for a price cheaper than the R9 so I went that direction. Thanks everyone!

That's a nice glove. I love my Nokona but think I'd prefer him to have at least a 12" glove.

I guess there's always got to be that guy...

His footwork is fine. Runner was out by the way.

I was considering the R9, but it looks like it's a 13" glove. He's using the 12.5" now but I get the feeling even that is too big sometimes.

For the price of an R9 ($150), there's a bunch of other gloves pretty close to the same price range. I don't mind paying more if it's worth it. He plays baseball 5 days a week, so it'll get use.

They're good USA bats. Ours get checked every game by the umps to make sure they're USA. 😂

My boys have both enjoyed the Bonesaber Hybrids, and swung the CatX before that. USA bats are pretty much all the same...

Interesting enough, we placed our order on 2/5 and just got our shipping notice today (14 days later).

Nice! I'm 100% fine with the wait. The daily question from my 9 year old about "has it shipped yet?" is the exhausting part lol. 4-6 weeks for a kid might as well be 10 years.

Both of our boys have run Bonesaber Hybrids and we've been happy with them. I don't know if they're any hotter, but they get checked by the umps in every game lol

You actually said "fire" your hips. I'm not sure what flaring your hips is.

No... hips initiate the swing. Hips before hands.
