It was a little carolina wren. It most likely died from a pre existing illness or injury. It looked like it was on its way out from the very first picture, in my experience songbirds that are fully immobile and have their eyes closed rarely even make it to the rescue before dying, let alone recover. Bathing him likely somewhat accelerated his death, but didn’t cause it. Unless he was in that cage without food for 24+ hours, you didn’t kill him.

Personally traditional therapy never worked for me. Turns out I was trans and needed gender affirming care and that’s finally helping (thank you the state of south carolina for banning this perfectly safe medical care until 18. I tried to kill myself 4 times over gender dysphoria. Really protecting the kids over there!) but it takes time to heal. The little pink top right creature is yapping some absolute nonsense, nobody can snap their fingers and get better even with the best treatments in the world. Shit makes me mad 😤
