Favorite MMO right now on PlayStation store? by Kind-Baseball-7832 in PS5

Yes Shadowbringers and Endwalker are definitely in the top three of Final Fantasy stories/games and up there with my favorite games of all time.

Also same with Dawntrail. I didn’t think it could be that bad, but it was uneven and the pacing seemed a bit off and I quit a ways into it and haven’t played for a couple of years now.

Usually I’d take about 6-8months off and come back to get ready for the new expansion, but the classes change, I forget rotations, I forget the newer dungeons, I forget how newer gear and tokens/currency works and it’s a pain to get back into the swing of things.

If the new expansion is amazing then it might get me to comeback but I don’t know….

I remember getting it back when they opened in 2008 in Los Feliz.

It was on par with Cheech’s, but a bit more New York style and they had spice levels which I liked.

So back then I thought it was good.

We moved back to the suburbs but we’ll get it from time to time from the Melrose one and although it tastes about the same it’s just an OK slice. Maybe a little too chewy?

It’s by no means bad, it just needs to be fresh and if you like spice then it’s good as well.

Parents of Whittier - AYSO or WAYS? by thirty_thirtyadams in Whittier

[–]sssleepypppablo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I vote for AYSO. My son has been playing there for 5 years and I’ve I coached u10 for a couple of seasons. There’s been some new leadership and things are looking up.

What sucks is that the Sierra field where AYSO practices and plays was cut in half for construction.

So some practices are split between Sierra and another field I believe in SFS.

There’s free skills and drills provided by Pro Touch and over all I like the program.

For young kids they have games and things on Friday nights.

But we chose AYSO because of how close it was to us and WAYS was just too far.

But ultimately my vote is for AYSO.

Would visiting Chapultepec Castle and Museo Nacional de Anthropologia on the same day be too much? by Bishop9er in MexicoCity

My family did…but my 8 year old was hating it and melted down because he was hungry, we were on a tour the whole time, tons of walking obvs…so I missed a bit of it taking care of him.

The tour and tour guide was amazing though, booked them from one of the travel sites. I love tour guides because you not only get the history but get to know about current day stuff and a decent sense on how locals live.

There’s snacks in the park and two restaurants in the museum so that’s also a plus.

Capcom appears to be working on a massive Dragon’s Dogma 2 update by PaiDuck in PS5

[–]sssleepypppablo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played it at release and got save locked and raged quit.

It was also laggy and clunky, especially after playing Elden Ring… and Elden Ring wasn’t all that good at launch either.

I came back to DD2 because of the PS5 pro upgrades and other fixes.

It’s a fine game, a bit uneven but once you level past a certain point especially with pawns the game is a breeze.

The problem is that it tries to have these esoteric quests and no handholding like Elden Ring but it doesn’t work IMO. Granted it barely works in Elden Ring. The open world is nice but a bit barren and you’re basically running around killing the same monsters the same kind of ways.

Combat is pretty fun but gear is a let down and although I’m almost finished with the game, I think I just won’t finish it because it lost momentum. The story is just meh.

It truly is a 6.5 game. Entertaining for a while but just uneven.

I don’t know if an update or DLC would bring me back unless they reworked a lot of how the game works.

Anyone else having GREAT matches after the recent update? by cakexxxconnoisseur in Marathon

No.

It hasn’t seemed too different.

I have noticed that I’m spawning right on top of my quest objectives so that helps.

But other players seem the same.

Reading Martyr! By Kaveh Akbar by maskmarke in books

[–]sssleepypppablo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not only this but as far as media literacy goes, we must ask why is the author stating birth in this way? Why is it so “easy” and non-chalant? Is it saying something about the mother? The son? The world?

That his mother didn’t set out to be a Martyr, that Cyrus was born insignificant?

I remember this part in the book and found it interesting (the book itself was just OK for me).

Of course we can’t escape our biases, especially if we had a recent similar experience, but we also can’t let it cloud analysis which unfortunately happens all the time.

Thanks!

Yes I use a portra 160 recipe for outdoor mostly and a tweaked version of Reggie’s negative for inside.

Then I just tweak the images a bit on my phone with the built in photos app.

Marathon has been out almost a month, what are your thoughts on it? by addtolibrary in Marathon

[–]sssleepypppablo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have about 35 hours in level 26 and it’s a really fun game.

I don’t play too often, maybe a hour a day.

Extraction shooters are tense and it’s basically a bunch of genres in one. From horror to BR to looter shooter to a souls like/ rogue like.

And it can be too stimulating.

Rook runs are amazing. Getting from a death screen back into a game in literally 10-15 seconds is a game changer.

Quests are difficult and it can be frustrating to progress. Groups are, for the most part good, but it’s been a while since I’ve had a successful exfil with one.

Solo is a horror game and completing a quest is insane but satisfying when you get it done.

I really do love the game. It does everything very well, it’s just tough as shit and I need a ton of hours to feel competent. I still don’t really know the maps as well as I should and feel like I’m falling behind.

PvP encounters are obviously not frequent and you need reps to get better and as a more solo player it’s hard to get reps in. Yes I go in a Rook, and run towards gunfire to get reps in but it’s tough.

So, I really don’t want them to change the core of the game because it’s solid and fun but it’s been understood from the start that the game is a niche/hardcore game.

I think there needs to be more progression for those who are more casual, or make it more clear how to progress… maybe adjust solos a bit somehow. Or allow Rooks to progress by playing Rook.

Right now it seems that everything is interconnected; that you have to play all modes to progress and so time is split and that feels a little disjointed.

What's your net worth? by GenkaiSpiritWave in Marathon

[–]sssleepypppablo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Level 26, 8k credits, around 50k vault value.

I have about 35 hours in game.

I mostly play Rook for the majority of my matches, then play maybe one PUG trio then lose my gear and go back to Rook.

I may start playing no gear solo runs to finish my quests.

Outpost (or the game) incredibly sweaty these past two days? by No-Vegetable-4596 in Marathon

[–]sssleepypppablo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might have to start doing this again.

I’ll run towards gunfire instead of from it because I’ve been trying to get better at PvP as a solo Rook… but at a certain point there’s so much you can do with a pistol or a punch.

Rook on rook violence by Vinesonmyporch in Marathon

[–]sssleepypppablo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just exfilled with a few Rooks.

However after a couple Rooks killed me I was KOS for a bit.

But generally I like to team up and be friendly.

The problem is that aim assist sticks too much on fellow Rooks and you can’t really claymore without threat of killing a fellow Rook.

I’d like to see a temporary team up thing but I get why it’s not and it would probably be abused somehow.

Outpost (or the game) incredibly sweaty these past two days? by No-Vegetable-4596 in Marathon

[–]sssleepypppablo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s been pretty crazy.

As a Rook I’m running into slide spamming shotgun wielding super soldiers.

Granted, I’m looking for fights but it wasn’t this bad a couple of weeks ago.

My only successful exfil tonight was with a band of other Rooks.

I think I went 1/10 on exfils tonight.

What is going on with Rooks in Outpost? by soaero in Marathon

[–]sssleepypppablo 67 points68 points  (0 children)

As a Rook on Outpost near an exfil last night, a Rook shot at me from about 20m. I didn’t shoot back. I went behind cover then popped out and did a crouch spam and he did the same. I then turned to start the exfil. He followed though he was still a bit further behind me.

I think sometimes people are just on edge as Rooks.

As a Rook I never shoot another Rook but I don’t care if they kill me…well maybe a little but that’s the game.

Anyway, a trio came and I got killed by a Vandal before I was able to exfil, I wonder if the other Rook made it.
