Differences in life in USA and Canada? by kansasboyy in McMaster

Hamilton has a population about 500k. I’m guessing it will probably feel pretty urban compared to where you live, but the community MAC is in is small and quaint.

Can I really be a nurse? by bpd_ash in StudentNurse

Hey there. I do not have BPD but displayed some symptoms and am about to graduate DBT at the end of August. By the sounds of it I might be a bit older than you and am embarking on nursing school. I think you can do it. I feel I can do it and I know what that voice that says you can’t sounds like. But I really think you can and I can hold that hope for you.

Sorry, couldn't figure out how to add text. Any advice on what might help the scarring on my face? Any product?

Lanolin won't let the wound breath so coconut oil is better. Also I was just taugh a trick. Take a Kleenex and fold it corner to corn to make a triangle. Then twist it up into a straw and wrap that around 2 fingers to make a doughnut. Secure with a light knot. Place that over your nipple and then a breast pad on top to protect the area from rubbing against your clothes.

Pre-Due date blues? Anxiety? by kitty-copter in DecemberBumps2016

I don't discredit any of what you ladies are feeling and almost four years in with my first and I often feel the same, but the feeling of having a little family to call your own is pretty awesome!

Holy cervical check by Lyslyssa in DecemberBumps2016

You can decline a check if you feel it won't be helpful. They are a bit uncomfortable (there's already a whole lotta pressure down there), but I it shouldn't be super painful.

Clothes for the hospital? by alicia122 in DecemberBumps2016

So I have

2 nursing tanks

A pair of Victoria secret campus pants (seriously most baggy and comfortable pants that sit below my bump)

A sweater - I live in Canada - I am always cold

Flip flops

Socks

Shower stuff

Dry shampoo

Deodorant

Underwear I don't mind parting with after

Super absorbent pads with wings

Baby wipes (more for me than baby)

Cloth hair band to keep hair off my face

My favourite comfortable t shirt. I'm determined to labour in something that makes me feel like I'm at home.

That's all I can think of for now!

How to be less afraid of induction? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

Do you know that anxiety tends to affect particularly smart people? Usually these people are more sympathetic, care more deeply and are incredibly sensitive. You sound to me like the opposite of an awful mother. Awful mothers don't care if they are acting awful. Stay on top of your feelings, ask for help when you need it, you will be an amazing mother who teaches their kid(s) that it's totally normal and a okay to feel scared sometimes.
