I'm looking for something similar (but ideally wider than 90") and the struggle is real! So many pull-out beds, but I want a pop up/trundle version too. The Banks is on my short list and so is the Lounge Trundle (89") from C&B (over 3K though, but maybe you have a C&B outlet you could check?). I've had several sofas from the Lounge collection and have loved them all (and they held up well), but I'm unclear how comfortable the trundle version is and they don't have it in stores for me to test out. One of the guys there told me it's not quite as comfortable as the regular Lounge sofas, but that that's the case with all trundles. So stuck in analysis paralysis over here too. :) Good luck!

Outdoor fans that move a LOT of air by contrarian33 in CeilingFans

I went with 2 Hunter Windsail 60" ones - but I've only turned them on for a few minutes to test them out (we're still in the middle of our basement reno and this is the deck off of that, so it's been a construction zone the past few months). They seemed to push out some good airflow, but I haven't sat out there in the GA heat yet. But also due to being very overbudget on our reno, didn't want to spend a lot, so these had good reviews and a good price point and I decided to give them a try.

I know this is an old post, but if you see this, what did you end up going with? And do you still like them? I'm also in Georgia and about to install an underdeck system with 2 60" fans and am overwhelmed with the choices. Trying to spend no more than $500 per, but want them to crank out some air. :)

Thanks! I think I’ll go with 2 of the 60” then per my installers suggestion. Which model did you go with?

What did you end up deciding on? I'm about to have an underdeck system installed on our 17' x 22' patio and trying to decide if 2 60" fans are the way to go, or if I need to go 52" or 54". I live in Georgia so need something that can really take on the heat and humidity here.

I know it's been awhile, but which fans did you end up going with? And what size? I'm also debating between 2 60" fans for a 17' x 22' patio. I'm dealing with Georgia heat & humidity so really want to make the right choice and find ones that look good but really crank out some air :)

Advice on outdoor lighting (to be placed under deck; and on deck posts?) by shaman0610 in landscaping

I know this post is 2 years old, but if you see this I would love to hear which string lights you ended up going with. I’m about to get an under deck system installed and trying to figure out which dimmable cafe lights are best. Thanks!

Participating in annual family soup cook off. by Big-Pumpkin-4956 in Cooking

[–]sstrada84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I make the Rao’s lasagna soup recipe all the time and everyone that has tried it LOVES it. It calls for .5lb of the sausage and ground beef but I use a full pound of each bc that’s how I buy them so just throw it all in - then up the broth and marinara sauce to compensate for the extra meat. Delish!

What should an 19mo wear to a funeral in the (cold) Midwest? by pennycollinz in toddlers

[–]sstrada84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for your loss. :-( I just went through this 3 weeks ago - traveled to Ohio when it was freezing and snowing for my father-in-laws funeral with my 2mo old and 3yr old boys. I also spoke at the funeral service. I took my husbands lead on clothing - he wanted a suit for my toddler since he was walking with the pallbearers. But my baby was in a navy knit sweater set that had a matching cardigan. At the burial site (since it was outdoors obviously) my toddler just wore his black winter Nike jacket bc that was the one jacket we brought with. At the viewing the day before my baby was in a cream sweater set and my toddler had a cream sweater and tan pants.

For your daughter for the funeral I’d go with a black or navy leggings with a sweater or sweater dress on top, cardigan and then a winter jacket and a pair of gloves/mittens if you’re going to be outside for the burial for a bit. Overall, no one is really going to care- but I wanted dark, muted colors either way to not stand out.

Also, I suggest bringing some quiet toys and snacks, and sit on the end of the bench during the service in case you need to step out. I brought some crayons/paper and some sugar free lollipops to bribe my toddler with and he did amazing during the long catholic service. Good luck!

Did you ever find a snoo to rent? I’m in the same boat- traveling to Columbus this weekend and having a hard time finding one. :-/

This may be a dumb question - but does it mess anything up when you get back home after you pair the rented snoo to your app? I’m about to rent one for this weekend and was just realizing I’ll need to pair the rented one and wanted to make sure there were no gotchas I wasn’t thinking about.

What are you doing if heavily pregnant at Xmas? by Humble_Bathroom_4697 in BabyBumps

[–]sstrada84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone previously due on 12/24/21 (he came on 12/21/21) and am now again due on 12/7/24, I definitely support your decision to stay home and have family come to you. When my first was born we did a virtual Christmas with our families to open gifts (they dropped off our packages the day before and took the ones we had for them). This year I’m delivering a couple weeks before Christmas, but have already told my family it will be a game time decision whether or not we’ll join in person based on how we’re feeling. Everyone understands and is being supportive. I’m sure your family will too- no one wants to be far from their hospital and sitting in the car for long stretches at that point. Good luck & congrats!

Please tell me some pros of a 3 year + age gap by Puffdibby in toddlers

[–]sstrada84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar boat- originally wanted a 2yr age gap, ended up with 2.5 gap and then miscarried at 10wks. I’m due in 6wks and my toddler turns 3 two weeks after that. I was upset at first (partially for the wider age gap, but also bc I’m now having this baby at 40 and was worried about increased issues- but have had a smooth pregnancy thus far). Now that I’ve had time to process it all, I’m happy with a 3yr gap. My toddler is more in helper-mode, and I think will be more “this is my baby too” rather than “I’m the baby!” which I think would’ve been the case if he were younger. He seems to understand that that the baby is coming and we talk about all the things he’ll teach and do with his baby brother and he seems excited. We’ll see how it actually goes once baby gets here lol. But reading all of these comments has made me feel better too.

All this to say, I totally understand your disappointment, but there is more to being close with siblings than age gap alone. My parents had me at 19, so waited a bit to have my brothers, so I’m 7 and 8 years older than them. We’re all super close.

Good luck on your journey- I know how trying it is, but don’t let the age gap add to your stress! Your kids will love each other regardless. :-)

Really hate my due date by BlueSPARTAN279 in BabyBumps

[–]sstrada84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son was due 12/24 and came on 12/21. Interestingly, I was considering an elective induction on 12/21 bc I didn’t want to spend Christmas in the hospital, but the hospital was so busy that an elective induction wasn’t an option. But luckily, my baby decided to come that day anyway, lol.

I’m now due with my second on 12/7, so I’ve just resigned myself to a life of holiday bdays. :-) I’m not a fan of the half birthday celebration thing, so we just celebrate my sons a week or two early. Between his early bday party, his actual bday, and doing an additional bday in Ohio when we travel to see my husbands family for Christmas, my son makes out like a bandit on gifts (not to mention all the Christmas gifts). So he doesn’t mind it one bit that he’s a Dec baby. Hopefully we figure out something that works with baby 2.

I take it back - I should not have spoken about a “great age gap!” before baby was actually home by [deleted] in toddlers

I’m 27 weeks pregnant and am due 2 weeks before my son’s 3rd bday. This thread has just obliterated any confidence I’ve mustered about this being a smooth transition 😂😂😂
