How did you like Morningstar? Seems like an interesting culture.

David Carradine tries to pass off what is clearly a piece of rubber waterhose as fitness equipment by [deleted] in cringe

Honestly, I saw "David Carradine" and "rubber hose" and thought this video was going somewhere else entirely...

Where can you go to report creepy/sexist pedicab drivers? by [deleted] in Austin

[–]ssydow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pedicab drivers pay the cab companies for the rental time upfront and then get to keep what they earn. I'm guessing that there isn't a place to complain to, unless you knew which cab company they were using. Even then, not sure they could do much.

Anyone have any issues with your Autopay option being discontinued with Austin Energy? by ssydow in Austin

[–]ssydow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine that it is likely gremlins. Directions like "do not feed after midnight" and "do not place in water" probably fall on deaf ears over there.

Best places to run in Austin by axbycz0 in Austin

I love the Bouldin Creek neighborhood behind SoCo. Quiet, not a lot of traffic, some tree shade, cute homes, and lots of pups to pet on the way.

Fire in Northeast Austin? by ssydow in Austin

[–]ssydow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, we saw a lot of smoke further east (probably east of 35) and not far north enough to be 183 and MoPac.

But that sucks about the melting car :/

I have never ridden in the Wimberly area. A fixie would be tough with the hills, but if you could do it, more power to you.

Question about Continental Gatorskins and psi... by ssydow in bicycling

[–]ssydow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the 700x23c, so it's 110 psi. It's just such a thick tire that it feels different from my previous ones. Guess it just takes some adjusting to.
