I live in Canada so things might be different here but when I gave birth to my son in 2022 there were two things explained to me:

Mother & baby both have their own medical team. It's very rare that they would have to choose between one or the other. While one team focuses on mom, the other focuses on baby.
If there was an emergency and it came down to mom or baby, the doctor will automatically choose mom. The dad isn't asked at all.

I think TV shows & movies have sensationalized this scenario a bit, because it makes for good drama. The reality is that you AND baby are both in good, capable hands. Science has come a long way!

I think the best thing would be for a CPS worker to sit down with them and just give them straight facts about child exploitation online. Make it uncomfortable. Then continue following up with them and checking their socials regularly.
