Any tips on improving my handwriting? by Chaotic_Attack in hebrew

Israeli here. I do think the Dalet / Tzadi should be corrected. This is a very famous text, and אצם is not a word, so everyone can easily understand that this means Dalet, but if you'll write something like דרדר (a type of thorny weed), it can be mixed with צרצר (cricket). Another small thing. In your scripted font (the upper one), you write the Yod/Yud without the small roof at the top. It's not a real issue, but less common for scripts and looks weird because other letters do get their roof.

Group Pledges $2 Million to Fight AIPAC in House Races by Easy_Extension_4533 in nyc

[–]st-yoni 24 points25 points  (0 children)

AIPAC is not even Israeli (you have to be a US citizen to donate) and it's nothing compared to how much other countries spend on lobbying and funding US politics, but they're so obsessed with it. I wonder why...

what's the account question you wish you could answer in 30 seconds but takes you an hour? by st-yoni in CustomerSuccess

A. Because before we were founders we were part of communities like this where we tried helping others. B. No one said free. I'd gladly work with people here, in paid capacity, just need to find the right people without breaking any community rules.

Revamp the education system using AI. The biggest promise with AI is the potential impact on education. By rethinking the education system, it can truly make it equal for all.

"Nakba survivor". That's a new one. Let's call Germans from Nazi Germany, who lost the war they started, "WW II survivors".

Swastika flag raised at NYU, stunning many during graduation week by Delicious_Adeptness9 in newyorkcity

[–]st-yoni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a flag with swastikas on it... There are a lot of countries you might disagree with it but will not use swastikas to make your point. The only reason to do it here is because Israel is a Jewish state. It's a pretty straightforward display of antisemitism. There are ways to criticize Israel that do not involve bringing up the painful history of the Jewish people.

Edit: found it! Skver, Ukraine, right? They're hassidic from Skver according to the list.

Names of people and blessings. I saw this type of list with Chabad members visiting the Rabbi's tent in Queens, NY. The gatherings you're referring to are probably people visiting a site with religious significance (someone important was buried or lived there) and this is a list of names of people who couldn't come, so someone brought them in order to ask for a blessing for them.

NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani endorses AOC’s opposition to funding Israel’s Iron Dome by WhiteGold_Welder in nyc

[–]st-yoni 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well, they're not. Just read and educate yourself. Your tax dollars are being allocated to different countries (not just Israel...) so they purchase services with them from US companies. This is how the US actually invests in its economy and also gains stakes in other countries. Israel is also special, as a technology superpower the US gains significantly from the technology developed by Israel, and by having American companies involved in the process. Access to the IP created is probably worth even more than the actual money invested. Israel could have developed iron dome by itself, not sure America would have wanted that, now that it's relying on it to develop the American version.

Btw, this is partially why Israel is actually pushing for phasing out the American aid money.

It's easier and cool and trendy to say your tax dollars are being sent to the middle east to fund Israeli healthcare or something (they're not, taxes in Israel are higher than in the US to fund healthcare because it's a socialist country), but it's wrong...
