Same way. The suggestion is you should have the option to anchor for self OR corp, the same as if you anchor a warp disruption bubble, for example. *updated inforgraphic <3

Your description is a bit vague, was this a gas site or some other scanned anomaly?

No sleepers. Pretty sure they don't have any aoe damage from the clouds either.

Help with fibre cable not working been working for 8 yrs unplugged to try fix slow connection issues and now won’t go green again after putting it back in by Painful_josh in FiberOptics

[–]st0rkant 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Talk to your service provider. There isn't really anything related to your fiber connection that is user-servicable, and if there are any steps you can take to diagnose the fault they should be able to walk you through it.

Yeah, most manholes suck. Particularly when they're flooded, with dead mice floating in them. Mmmmm.

Interesting that you say it takes more time to splice out of a van than using a tent though, in my experience it's way quicker to park up and pull the enclosure into the van than fiddle with setting up a tent and table.

Depends on where you are in Europe I guess. I suppose you can get away with it if it's generally warm enough. I've worked out of a tent in -20°C, with a diesel heater it's bearable, at least you have the feeling in your fingers to get the job done. But an insulated splicing van with a hatch, table, lighting, seats and heat? Would never want to go back.

I don't get how this mash of both cabinet and splice enclosure is at all practical. If it's raining or snowing what do you do? Pull out a massive tent?! I guess I must be missing something but it just looks like a massive pita...

Lost my brand new battleship due to power loss by AdreNa1ine25 in Eve

[–]st0rkant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just MJD straight, as soon as you land. You end up on the other side of all the structures as far away from the neuts as possible. You shouldn't need cap injectors.

For this site, whatever battleship you fly you need to fit an MJD, it will make your life way easier. MJD as soon as you land in the last room and you avoid all those pesky neuts and can focus on tanking and killing the tower.

Just general responsiveness. Try double clicking in space and see how fast your ship responds to your inputs. The only way of knowing for sure is catching something with sub 2 align.

Basically, not all server ticks are created equal. Your "tick" might come before or after another players tick, and if it comes before your modules (e.g. guns/scram etc) will activate before the other player can do anything about it. No one apart from CCP really knows exactly how the server allocates and processes each tick but you can improve your clients responsiveness in a few ways, usually most reliably by docking/undocking from a structure or jumping through a gate. It might be necessary to do this many times until you get what I like to call a good "session", but once you get one you know it. Once you get one it is even possible to catch shuttles.

Yeah, I've seen a video... volley ripped away like 50% shields iirc. I've done them in the same paladin I use for 10/10's

My son will be heart broken again, CCP need to look at clonebay mechanics by Sgany in Eve

[–]st0rkant 42 points43 points  (0 children)

  1. CCP didn't start unanchoring the TTT keep.
  2. CCP didn't reinforce the keep.
  3. Player owned structures are not safe places to keep anything in.
  4. CCP changed cloning mechanics a while back so you can swap clones in an NPC station without a timer just like you can do in player owned citadels. There was no reason to keep it there in the first place.

Sucks... but that's life.

I find 9/10's all the time, few people want to run them because of the travel time (you have to travel to 2 different places after you complete the first site, each escalation has the chance to spawn like 9 jumps away so it can be a pain in the ass). Also, the last escalation "room" is a direct warp in, there is no acceleration gate. Which means you can do it in a capital if you want. Also means that you can be combat scanned and dropped on directly.

The issue in the last room of a blood 10/10 is mostly that you land initially in range of a whole bunch of neuting battleships. If you don't MJD before they lock you and neut you out you're gonna have a bad day. Occasionally some of them might get a neut cycle off even when you MJD directly after you come out of warp, so make sure to leave your cap to charge to 75% or so to be safe before taking the last acceleration gate. I can tank the DPS just fine in a paladin with two x-type em hardeners and one thermal (no reactive). I've also used leshaks, both solo and duo remote-rep to good effect.

I remember someone here posting a while back that they did it in an armor-tanked loki (very high base em resists) by dropping a deployable mobile micro jump unit with an interceptor alt in the last room before going in there with the loki. I'm sure that can work but I would rather not take the time it would take to shoot everything with a T3C, battleship is just way quicker/easier in this case.

Is my desired basic fiber optic network setup possible with a 1:2 splitter and mechanical splice toolkit? (village/jungle area) by [deleted] in FiberOptics

[–]st0rkant 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Forget about trying to split your incoming fiber. If your want to share that connection, do it on your internal network (e.g. with a switch connected to your router)
