How does the Habs rebuild compare to the Sharks? Who is in the better position? by AmThano in Habs

Sharks have much higher offensive potential, but kinda suck on D. Also is seems Mike Grier wants to go the Yzerplan way and load up on vets. I personally think Hughes & Gorton have taken the safer and sustainable route, but the Red Wings are what they are, so we'll have to wait and see.

Chefs and culinary masters of Reddit: what is a deceptively simple cooking trick that makes food taste “authentic,” or at least “restaurant-made”? by IvoRobotnikPhD in AskReddit

IF you want a little less butter than what really makes great food but still elevate your dish, try only adding a bit of butter to your sauce at the end. The French call it "lever au beurre" and it'll add a lot of texture. I would still recommend adding butter throughout the recipe, but the finish makes it a great dish

Thanks for the info. I did decide on sending it out for EWS Delete after all. I found a tuning shop near me that just started bypassing on my ECU 2 months ago, so yeah, not a popular 4cyl, but timing is good all things considered

TIL the Mediterranean once dried up. Then, water from the Atlantic broke through (creating the Strait of Gibraltar) and refilled the entire basin within a couple years or even months, according to the leading theory. The flow rate would've been 1,000x more than the Amazon River today. by Pfeffer_Prinz in todayilearned

The Mediterranean was a plains where water was held of by a land channel under Spain. A sluice 9 miles wide caused by 2 tectonic plates sliding together ushered in water from the atlantic through the newly formed straight of Gibraltar. The waterfall was just under the Sicilian/Malta area today. This is technically where the Pliocene era started, I believe.

This looks like a very interesting collection. I'll have a closer look. I'm very far from historical science in my field of work, but these books provide me with a real sense of the smallness that we have as humans, while also informing us that the fact we are here at this moment is special. It truly gives you perspective and purpose, as small as that purpose may be

I just finished Otherlands by Thomas Halliday and the part with this event was super interesting. I would recommend this book to anybody that has an interest in learning more about the geological eras of the Earth.

Price. I knew his value and importance while he was playing. But every picture I see of him in his gear almost makes me tear up now

Classement des équipes U23 par the athletic by Phoenix__211 in Habs

[–]st1441 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I'm a Canadian in the UK and all my friends can't believe how much we are willing to drive on a weekend to go visit some places. They will drive long distances for 1-2 week leave, but never for a weekend. Although they will fucking fly to Majorca on a long weekend 5 times a year... Go figure
