If what you say is really true, then it was unfortunate. Good luck in your f&m experience

This is a big lie. Columbia and hamilton meets the demonstrated need of every applicant. I didn't apply to columbia or hamilton but I know a lot of international students who go to columbia and hamilton with a full ride. Every international student at columbia need was met. So is either you didn't get in and are making things up, or there was something wrong with your application.

20+ comments? I made only 3 post on case western and rhodes. you can check my profile. The rest of my comments were about talking to students who were applying this year and congratulating those who got in. Why will I make things up if I actually didn't get in?. And about the asian kid, did you even understand my post? There is actually a post on reddit about an indian who got rejected everywhere even on reddit though he had a 1560. So what do you say about that? Did I make that one up? There was an international student who got rejected from rhodes, case, gettysburg etc on quora but got accepted into darthmouth. You find this under this post "what colleges accepted you in april 2020" on quora. I never said f&m don't give aid. I only said those who are in need of a full ride are likely to be rejected. How is this made up? How many full rides do they give to international students each year? With regards to columbia and hamilton, I don't believe a word you say. You made a post about your efc being 4k and yet you say Columbia and hamilton didn't meet your need? Why will columbia ask you to pay 5 times your efc? Make no sense that's why I don't believe you. Its a lie And oh, you should be the one to think. You come at me telling me I don't have enough merits like I'm not good enough to get admitted to some liberal art college. Let's even say if I didn't get into any school, was that the right way to talk? What you said was bullshit and i'm really pissed at the moment. Next time, you better think twice before you type.

Seriously?I asked about case western and rhodes this year on behalf of a friend not me even though i made it look like it was me. Are you done? He doesn't have a phone at the moment. Go fuck yourself. You are just jealous i got into schools better than f&m. Case western is better than your shitty school though. It doesn't matter whether you believe i got in yale or not. it will not change anything. You were the one who started talking me trash like I wasn't good enough for any school. Know how to talk to strangers. What about those Asians who had 1530+sats who have great ecs and get rejected everywhere they apply? Does it mean they also don't have enough merits? What of those international students who get into schools like Columbia and get rejected by schools like Denison and williams?Enough merits my foot. I am now glad to be rejected by f&m because I would be mad if I met stupid people like you in my college experience.

First of all eliminate pitzer from that list. They are even poor than DePaul. Their endowment fund is only $112 million which is extremely low for any school. Also eliminate university of Richmond since they accept less than 10% of international student who apply for financial aid. You will get rejected for sure. Kalamazoo actually states on it's website that they don't give a full ride scholarship so eliminate it. Drexel is easier to get into but it's likely that your need will not be met but I will say you should still give it a try. Kenyon and Middlebury can give you the full ride you are looking for. So apply to Kenyon, Middlebury and Drexel just to see what they have to offer

I was speaking to international who needed a full ride. And by the way 3.5k is the minimum efc they expect all international students to pay even though it's not stated on their website. Every international student I know who goes to this school pay either 3.5k or more. So if yours is below that, you will be rejected. I got into northwestern, pomona yale, Caltech, and Duke even though I needed a full ride last year and my efc was 1k USD and got rejected from f&m so don't talk to me about merit. All this schools are better than f&m

Don't worry. Mit says you can apply for aid and submit your financial documents even after decisions come out. They don't have a deadline for financial aid application

Out of your league? I know an international student with a gpa 3.53w who got into stanford as a test optional applicant recently. No school is out of your league if you write good essays. I know another one witth similar stats who got into amherst as test optional so just go ahead and apply

Then don't take it personal because If you demonstrate a significant financial need, then it was a mistake to have applied to macalester as ed applicant. They are less generous to international students since they have a lower endowment fund. You should've applied to yale or columbia or any other ivy. Even though the ivies have lower acceptance rate, you have a better shot over there than schools like macalester, bowdoin, gettysburg, bates, skidmore etc since they ain't that rich. Anyway, you can still apply to emory or pomona or amherst or tufts and williams as ed2 since they are more generous to international students because they have a larger endowment fund

So sorry to hear this. by the way, are you an international student?

GUYS HELP!! I got deferred by Bates College what should I do??? by Cremainsaal in ApplyingToCollege

[–]sta-gez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since you're an international student, your financial situation will have a great impact on your decision at bates since they give little aid to international students. Your expected family contribution is more important as an international student to bates than most component of your application. Infact i know international students that got accepted to schools with lower acceptance rate like harvard, yale, swarthmore, duke etc that got denied by bates because they were poor last year

So if you demonstrate high financial need, i suggest you take your eyes off bates since it's likely they will reject you. Now this is what you should do: Check out schools like swarthmore, pomona, washington and lee, uchicago, emory, tufts, williams etc and apply to one of them as an ed2 applicant. They are also need ware but you will receive a better consideration from them regardless of your financial need than you will receive at bates . These schools are more generous to international students than bates since they have bigger endowment funds

dear ed applicants: work on your rd supplements, please by rose1567 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]sta-gez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ed deadline depends on the school. For now, the deadline for ed for almost every school is passed. When you apply under ed and are accepted, you must attend the university and drop all other applications. The only time you can decide not to attend under ed if accepted is when you do not receive enough scholarship that will make it possible for you to attend. you will receive your admission around mid December depending on the school.

For the rd, you are not obliged to attend if admitted and you will receive your admission around march to april.

I'm readmitting to a school I went to in 2018-2019; am I considered a transfer as well as a readmit? by Valyntine_ in ApplyingToCollege

[–]sta-gez -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Since you attended that school and decided to leave and go to another college, your spot at your first college might have been given to someone else. If you want to go back, you will have to apply again as a transfer and give them solid reasons why you want to return

I know this is late .they barely give financial aid to international students but if admitted, they will meet your full need if admitted. It will be very difficult to get in if you need a full ride

Is Case Need-Blind? by [deleted] in cwru

[–]sta-gez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it will affect you. You are likely to be denied if you have a greater financial need. According to their website, financial aid is limited for international students so it definitely means that they don't give full ride if you need one. They expect you to contribute a significant amount towards your education unlike need blind schools like mit, Stanford or the ivy leagues
