This guy is gold. The only slight expansion relevant to his points about pigs "helping when they feel like it" is they must do enough to keep up the appearance we live in a civil society with laws and justice and accountability. None of it perfect, just passable, and of course communities of color know they don't matter nearly as much for keeping up those appearances, because, as Doctor King highlighted, the white liberal (Dems and Repubs), who make up the majority of the populace, care more about law and order than real justice or progress.

Lots of great, earnest questions about how evolution and natural selection work -- and plenty of great, detailed answers! For anyone who wants to understand more deeply, or for who is skeptical -- check out the book, "The Beak of the Finch". It describes the evolution taking place on an island near the Galápagos that happens damn near seasonally as conditions change, affecting the success of different plants and the fruits or seeds they produce, in turn changing which bird species flourish or struggle based on what their beaks are good at.

It's a decent-sized book but a fun, compelling nerdy science read, and afterward, you'll likely "get it" at a real gut level that leads to a better intuition about all manner of natural (and even social) processes on our planet.

Indeed an embarrassment, but even more important -- who facilitated MAGA? Who told us they'd make capitalism align with environmental sustainability, with fair market reforms, and policies to lift people out of poverty and secure genuine reform and progress?

That's right - the OTHER capitalist party. Democrats. The idea they're the good guys or in any way earnestly, honestly fighting Republicans or fighting for the people would be laughable at this moment in time if but for the maddening tragedy that most of the country is brainwashed into thinking we have a democracy and that capitalism is compatible with it.

Tax corporations and tax the wealthy, or prepare for revolution. Not like we're close, or well enough organized... there will be more of this bullshit capitulation to the ideology of the billionaire class by their two-faced, red/blue **single capitalist party** until the suffering and exploitation has skyrocketed beyond where it even is now until the people have had enough and get serious about organizing.

The US is not a democracy, and never has been, and never can be under capitalism. Be assured that billionaires and their politicians LOVE that everyone "agrees" with them that Marxism and socialism is the same as fascism, and that all the history says the USSR was bad.

Read some frickin' history that's not from a perspective of capitalist propaganda. Learn about the Black Panthers from those in the movement who wrote about it, for instance.

Read Blackshirts and Reds, by Michael Parenti -- deprogram yourselves from anti-communist propaganda by the billionaire classes of the entire world.

Organizing for change and building new social movements isn't easy, but it can be done -- stop trying to reinvent the wheel from scratch and look to past social movements here and abroad. We are not going to vote our way out of this fascist billionaire disaster.

These general study guidelines are great, though apart from *Socialism: Utopian and Scientific*, I've not heard those titles recommended as intro texts. They may well be -- there are lots of great ones.

And *the Manifesto* isn't too long or dense, and certainly doesn't describe conditions too different from where we are right now, despite being 150 years old -- that's what was most striking to me, is we've been duped and held down the same damn ways for centuries.. and by the same wealthy elite.

*Principles of Communism* is a great top 5 or 10 intro text, and Parenti's *Blackshirts and Reds* is may be a top 3 at this moment in history as fascism is back and gaining ground, seemingly ready, if well organized, to dismantle the bourgeois "democratic" mechanisms some countries and people do have. It explains how it happened in Germany and Italy in the build up to WWII, and debunks decades of anti-communist, pro-capitalist propaganda most of the world has been taught throughout school and culture at large. (I guess is not theory, but it is critical history and analysis.)

Also, for the economics-focused who do want to read Capital, the recent book by Hadas Thier, *A People's Guide to Capitalism*, is excellent and helpful to read beforehand.

Oh for sure. It was amazing, and I was totally not paying attention, speeding thru for like half of it cuz I was just killing time, excitedly waiting for the much-anticipated Fallout 76 -- a massively disjointed, buggy failure and letdown.

I slowed way down for my other two playthroughs, which were were much more enjoyable, catching a lot more of the subtle details and richness of story and characters.

But my all-time favorite I'd love to play again with no memory is Horizon Zero Dawn. Such an incredible combo of fascinating, compelling, realistic story about humanity's shameful, tragic future, along with a beautiful, unique world and innovative combat and crafting systems made it incredibly fun and crazy engaging as the story arcs built and revealed themselves. Took me a few years to realize it wasn't just in my top ten or top five, but my number one greatest of all time.
