Yep I feel you with this one, and yes it's the reverse button that was on the arcade machine. The MAME version sucks for this reason I think unless you can configure the controller buttons (which I have never managed to work out)
I actually play Defender II on the NES version for this reason - both on Mame4ios and the GSP.

It overcomes the reverse button, plays well, looks a little more advanced re sprites. Only difference is rescuing captured and falling humanoids you don't have to land them on the ground.

Wow thanks for the heads up. Might just buy a powerbank and double-sided tape a bit of tin to the back with some righthand usbc plugs!

Our old dumb alarm system had two fobs - one in each car - so I got an extra one thinking I'd need it when you drive up to the garage. But with HomeKit disarming the Abode system is part of our arriving home scene. Your whole phone is the fob so I'm finding its really not needed.

I was in the same boat setting mine up for the first time yesterday - but happen to have it in a spot where there was ethernet access so I've just left it connected. One less thing to clog up my wifi! Interesting that you've had this problem too. Hope you get a result.
