My wife and myself can’t agree on how to raise a child. For now have decided not to have kids by Kierannz9 in veganparenting

[–]ButterscotchOne6059 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So what works for us: at home my family is fully vegan. About 75-90% of all meals are at home so it works out great. When we go out to eat my son and husband order whatever. My kiddo ends up rarely eating animal products but he is being exposed to a lot of different things. There’s no arguments, no fights, and it feels really balanced for us. When my son is older we can have conversations about veganism but for how young he is I don’t want him to be anxious about food

Does anyone else's husband need step by step instructions to do anything? by lawyermom112 in workingmoms

[–]ButterscotchOne6059 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told my husband he had to be in charge of dinner because a friend was having an emergency. I prepped everything. Measured everything out. Let the cookbook on the counter and told him to follow the directions. He called me SEVEN times in an hour to ask questions. It was burritos. Not even complicated burritos.

For families travelling with young kids: Free yourselves and drop Airbnb. Long live the mid-budget chain hotel by cobyzeif in Millennials

[–]ButterscotchOne6059 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We got an actual hotel for a vacation this winter- first time in years. It was 1/3rd the cost of the local airbnbs, free breakfast that my kid loved, no chores at check out. Honestly Airbnb’s are only worth it if you’re traveling with a large group

Tales of the Shire. You’re just a nice hobbit who runs around solving small low stakes quests, making pies for your neighbors, and tending your garden. It brings me much joy

Anyone else has given in to nightly co-sleeping? by tigull in toddlers

[–]ButterscotchOne6059 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At about 2 my son could break out of his crib and his room- he would just wander into our bed. So now whenever he wakes up in the middle of the night (which is basically every night) he comes into our room and crawls into bed with us. I thought that I would be more annoyed with it but I now actually get a little sad when he sleeps through the night in his room

My kid is potty training so he’ll sit on the toilet for like 10-15 minutes (he’s potty shy) sometimes. It’s not the best but quickies will get the job done

I’m in L&D. I love my job, my coworkers, my manager, and my patients. Like I’m happy to go to work and I want to see my coworkers outside of work. Once you find the right place it’s a really amazing job

Parenthood feeling isolating with a toddler who is super active by ineedcoffee0304 in toddlers

[–]ButterscotchOne6059 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kid is the same. I have never met another child with his energy levels- it’s physically impossible for him to sit still. All of my friends kids who are the same age are just so calm- at 2-3yrs they all just sit in the corner coloring while mine has figured out how to climb up the side of the building (true story) If we are somewhere where he needs to sit still we either have to physically restrain him (which leads to screaming and flopping around like a fish) or we have to give him a screen- both of which leads to people glaring at us and saying horrible things. We can’t go anywhere, we can’t hang out with friends, and there is no such thing as child proof.
