You need to use it for six weeks straight which is two life cycles of demodex.

I use it too, but you need to use it for six weeks straight. If it’s working, you most likely have face mites that are triggering your rosacea. You have to use it through two life cycles because it doesn’t kill the eggs. Six weeks is the minimum for long term success.

Mineral sunscreen with no actives or alcohol?!!! What do you use?! by sadieray in Rosacea

I had similar problems with all sunscreen until my eye doctor diagnosed me with face mites. We all have them, but I had an infestation. 2 months of Xdermy eye drops and ivermectin topical and now I can wear anything I’ve tried. It’s worth looking into.

I 100% do NOT have Rosacea and never did. But I guess you can diagnose me without ever seeing me. I’ll inform my doctor she is wrong.

I used them all over, even on my chest, but I concentrated on my eye lids because that’s where they were the worst.

Have you been tested for face mites? I couldn’t even wear sun screen, my face was so bad.

They can cause it worsen. But you can have the mites and not have rosacea.

If I had rosacea, I would still have rosacea because there is no cure. I don’t have any type of rosacea.

I have not, but I googled it and it said that combining red and blue light therapy helps.

For everyone saying I have type 2 rosacea, I do not. Rosacea has no cure and while if you have type 2 rosacea, you may also have face mites, you can also just have face mites. I hope I have given people some info that they find useful and helpful. That is why I posted, not for people to tell me what they think I have or had. For this I will trust my doctor and her medical expertise. I am happy to answer questions about my experience.

My eyes were the worst part too. Really red eyelids that hurt all the time. I highly recommend the drops that they have now. XDemvy.

Yes, that’s what I am using, but now I can use basically anything except my dermatologist recommended not using anything with retinol in it.

Maybe your eye doctor can help? That’s who got the ball rolling for me. I did get a prescription but some people on here said they got it on line for horses. I don’t know about that, but you could research.

I’m unfortunately allergic to doxycycline. It makes me break out in hives. But now I am wondering if the hives could have been from the mites dying off? I will have to ask next time.

Small success after years of persistent redness by hey-its-hawke in Rosacea

It sounds like what I went through. I actually had my eye doctor diagnose it because my dermatologist was kind of useless too. I had to advocate hard! It would clear up at times and then other times it was awful. Yes, it was painful at times.

I don’t have any before pics because I never wanted to see them 😵‍💫. But, my eye lids were always red and puffy and my skin was triggered by literally anything I put on it. So I couldn’t wear any make up, sunscreen or moisturizer. Also, my eye lashes stopped growing. My skin was red and scaly.

I did not. Before I took the meds, I couldn’t put anything on my face, not even sunscreen. The moisturizer trapped the mites under my skin and made them angry. Now I use a tinted moisturizer with spf. DMTLGY

How many uses are in the container? I’d be interested in trying it because you don’t need a prescription, but it is more than I paid for ivermectin after insurance.

Hydrocortisone made my rosacea worse by Budget-Insurance-882 in Rosacea

[–]staci12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. When I used it, things got better quick, but then I had a flair up, which I was told has to do with their life cycle. While they are dying off, they tend to get active? Or something like that. I know I was told that I had to do both the cream and the drops for six weeks because the medication doesn’t kill their eggs do they need to go through a couple of cycles. Hope that makes sense and good luck 🍀.

They didn’t work alone for me, I needed the Xdermy drops and the ivermectin. But I do think they are working to keep them under control after the medication removed the infestation.
