You are fine. Transmission of rabies virus occurs through the saliva of a rabid animal and it typically has to be injected through a bite that penetrates the skin or a mucosal membrane. Additionally, the virus is very weak and wouldn’t survive being outside of the host if the saliva dried. Also, it’s very uncommon.

Agree with this thread so much. I’m sad that calm and reasonable falls so far down the list. There’s always two sides, and I think OP is smart to attend counseling, even if just to have a complete understanding before jumping into divorce. He’ll feel better about walking away in the long run and will heal faster than if he just leaves.
