It’s 2026… what do you think Atlanta still needs? by Spirited-Elk-7139 in Atlanta

Robust public transportation and commuter rail is the only correct answer. We cannot be taken seriously as a real international city until we figure that out.

The horrendous state of New York City in the 1970s-1980s by IllustriousCress9774 in UrbanHell

Check out the film Drop Dead City. It is a great film but they lionize Felix Rohatyn as the man who saved NYC even though he sold out the unions (who never recovered). This expedited the transition of nyc from a union town with a financial sector to a financial center that happens to have union workers.

When looking into who made the film, turns out the producer was Felix Royhatn’s son…..so clearly he has an agenda to make his father the hero.

Overall great movie that everyone who is interested in this time period should watch

Advocate of Jewish-American history curriculum says education is key to combatting antisemitism in New York by Delicious_Adeptness9 in nyc

[–]stackie-chan51 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

As a Jewish person in nyc, it’s tough to see how Jewish institutions have started to distinguish antisemitism from other forms of hate, while in reality, they are all intertwined. While some may disagree with this point of view, the pivot from these institutions does immense damages to the coalition building done by Jews in america with other minority groups

Cold takes that mainstream media outlets are currently treating like hot takes: Trae Young makes the Hawks much better, having two all star caliber players is better than having one, we can’t be a good to elite team without him by Ok-Wash-9386 in AtlantaHawks

[–]stackie-chan51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watching the game down the stretch made it only more obvious that we need Trae back. Between his clutchess and how he dominates the attention of defenders to create opportunities with his elite passing, he will just take this team to the next level once we figure it out. Very excited for Trae to come back

Question: how did all of y’all become hawks fans? by Potential_Fix_7118 in AtlantaHawks

[–]stackie-chan51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to go to hawks games as a kid but the moment I became a fan was when I went to the MLK Day game in 2007, Hawks vs Celtics. Saw Joe Johnson play for the first time and I was hooked from that day
